A fantastic cruise down the Danube River in a large group of other LGBT people, this is a great opportunity to take in some of the most beautiful and cultural places in Eastern Europe in one of the most enjoyable ways. You'll cruise down the river, taking in stops in Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania with activities included along the way. This gay group trip is not one to miss!

Day 1 - Arrival

Today you'll arrive into Budapest where you'll be met at the airport and transferred to the ship. You can drop your belongings off on the ship and go and explore the city if you wish to or, if your room is ready youcan get settled in. In the afternoon you'll meet your fellow passengers on the trip and join together for a welcome reception and dinner on board the Amadeus Queen.

Day 2 - Budapest

Today you'll start your day with a sightseeing tour of historic Budapest! You'll take in the historic castle and palace complex of Buda Castle where you can enjoy scenic views of the city. You'll also take in the beautiful architecture of sights such as the Fisherman's Bastion, Royal Palace and St. Stephen's Basilica. If the tour of Budapest isn't for you, there is an alternative optional tour to the beautiful city of Esztergom and the charming town of Szentendre. In the evening you'll enjoy dinner on the ship and you'll enjoy a special evening cruise on the riverfront.  

Day 3 - Mohacs/Vukovar

You'll start your day with a boat tour at the Kopački Rit Nature Park - an important bird conservation area and a place so beautiful it has been submitted to be made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From here you'll visit a lovely Fishermans village that was founded in the 13th century. Here you'll learn some fishing techniques and enjoy a wine tasting session of the locally produced tipple as well as wines from Croatia. Enjoy a scenic drive back to Vukovar before embarking on an afternoon stroll through the city.

Day 4 - Belgrade, Serbia

Today you'll arrive in Serbia, specifically into the capital city Belgrade. This is one of the oldest cities in Europe and so there is plenty to see and discover here. You'll enjoy a city tour which will take you to the Kalemegdan Fortress for great views over the Danube and Sava Rivers. You'll also take in other sights such as the NAtional Museum, the Parliament, Terazije Square adnd the Palace of Princess Ljubica. The largest Orthodox church is also found in this beautiful city, known as St. Sava Cathedral. After, head to the Hotel Majestic for refreshments and a rest before ending the tour in the pedestrian zone where you'll find lots of shops and art galleries to wander around. 

Day 5 - The Iron Gates

You'll be cruising further down the Danube River today, sailing in the postcard-perfect 'Iron Gates' gorge that separates Serbia and Romania naturally. The narrow gorge is found between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains, making for some impressive mountainous scenery.

Day 6 - Svistov, Bulgaria

Today you'll travel by bus to the northern Bulgarian city of Veliko Tarnovo which is found on the banks of the Yantra River. Here you'll find the fortress Tsarevets, built high on a hill, this stronghold was built during the Bulgarian Empire period where 22 tsars made history. You'll also take in the 13th-century church of St. Peter and Paul which is one of a very small number of medieval churches still left standing, in good condition and still used for worship.

Day 7 - Danube Delta / St. George Village

Today you'll enjoy cruising further down the Danube, floating down the Sfantu Gheorghe which is one of the three main channels that make up the Danube Delta. It's a long stretch with the channel reaching almost 67 miles long, carrying 23% of the total water flow. You'll start a Delta safari at the charming fishermen's village of Saint George which is found in the largest compact area of reed beds on the planet. This village is so remote you can only access it by boat or flight, making it very remote and difficult for it's inhabitants to make contact with the mainland in the winter when the river freezes over. You'll enjoy the safari further down through the UNESCO World Heritage Site and vital bird conservation site before reaching the Sahalin Peninsula. Here you'll find many species of bird such as Pelicans, Egrets and Herons. 

Day 8 - Harsova / Bucharest, Romania

Today you'll disembark from the ship and be transferred to Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. You'll enjoy a tour of the city taking in some of the finest architecture the country has to offer such as the People's Palace which is the largest civilian building in the world. You can also choose to explore the city with your own free time or simply relax and enjoy time with friends.

Day 9 - Bucharest, Romania

Enjoy a hearty breakfast in your hotel this morning before enjoying a half day of touring around the capital city once again.

Day 10 - Departure

Today marks the end of your trip. You will be picked up at your hotel and driven to the airport ready to catch your departing flight home.
