? Our group trips are a great chance to travel with others. We also recommend adding in a few extra nights tailor-made to ensure you build the perfect itinerary.

Greece is the cradle of Western Civilisation, so it’s no surprise that it’s a popular tourist destination. The perfect weather, golden beaches and cuisine also help. Not to mention the magical Islands surrounding the mainland.

On this trip you’ll get to explore the wonders of Athens, and then do a bit of island hopping – including trips to Santorini, Mykonos and Milos.  This trip is not based on a strict itinerary so you’ll have plenty of chance to explore, unwind and enjoy Greece with a great group of guys.

This has long been one of our most popular group trips and the fact you get to explore history combined with partying and relaxation is undoubtedly why it’s one of our bestsellers.

The laidback nature of this trip means you’ll have plenty of room for spontaneity – no stressful early mornings or limiting daily itineraries. Relax, explore and have fun with new friends.

You can join the trip as a solo traveller, with a partner or group of friends. Solo travellers will need to pay $1160 for a private room, or can be paired up with another solo traveler at no extra cost. Joining a group trip organised by destination experts is a great way to discover the highlights of Greece in one trip. Booking a Greek island-hopping itinerary can be tricky logistically – all you have to do is show up and enjoy the ride.

LGBT Rights in Greece

The state of LGBTQ+ rights has made significant progress in recent years in Greece, although hardships and inequalities still persist in areas outside of the major cities. The country has undergone a widespread legal and societal transformation that has begun to improve the rights and protections for LGBTQ+ individuals.

When it comes to legal advancements, Greece decriminalized same-sex sexual activity in 1951, and in 2015, the Greek Parliament passed a law that recognized civil partnerships for same-sex couples, granting them legal recognition and many of the same rights as married heterosexual couples. However, marriage equality has still not been achieved, as same-sex marriages are not legally recognized.

The legal system in Greece prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation in employment and certain other areas. However, LGBTQ+ individuals continue to face discrimination and social stigma in various aspects of their lives. Homophobic and transphobic attitudes persist in some parts of society, especially in more remote and rural areas.

On a positive note, Athens, the capital city, has a vibrant LGBTQ+ community with a thriving nightlife scene, with an annual Pride parade that attracts thousands of participants from across the globe. LGBTQ+ organizations and advocacy groups in Greece actively work to promote equal rights and social acceptance.

Though LGBTQ+ travelers can enjoy visiting all areas of Greece’s diverse landscape, the gorgeous island of Mykonos is a particular favorite amongst the LGBTQ+ community. In Mykonos, you’ll find a plethora of gay-focused bars and clubs as well as some of Europe’s most beautiful gay beaches.

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Accommodation

You’ll be staying in four beautiful hotels in Athens, Mykonos, Santorini and Milos respectively. This is an adventure-filled itinerary so you’ll spend the majority of time away from the hotel, but a huge amount of work has gone into selecting beautiful 4* properties in each location.

Please note that due to availability, these exact hotels may not all be available during your trip. However, these will always be replaced with similar hotels.

Accommodation

Athens Accommodation

In Athens, you’ll stay at the 360 Pop Art Hotel, based in a fantastic location in the city centre. This hotel features retro-inspired design, with all the amenities you’d expect – free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, mini-fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.

Food & Drink

Savor the delights of Greek cuisine in its homeland! With a Mediterranean foundation infused with Middle Eastern influences, local menus offer a rich array of flavors, featuring olives, cheeses, eggplant, lamb, and yogurt. These group trips are designed to provide flexibility for your culinary adventures.

While all breakfasts are included in the trip, lunch and dinner are not part of the package, so you can explore the diverse restaurant options on offer for lunch and dinner at your own pleasure. This way, you have the freedom to dine at your chosen time and place, with the company of your choice, and within your preferred budget. Should you seek recommendations for the best dining experiences in each location, your trip leader will be a valuable resource.

LGBT+ Travel in Greece

The regions you’ll explore in Greece are generally open-minded and inclusive, with a warm reception towards LGBTQ+ travelers. However, influenced by the Orthodox Church, public displays of affection, whether for same-sex or opposite-sex couples, are typically viewed conservatively. In consideration of local customs, we recommend expressing your affection in more private settings.

The locals in Greece are known for their warmth, friendliness, and easygoing nature. The importance of family is deeply ingrained in Greek culture, often leading to entire families working together in hotels and restaurants. While English is widely spoken, embracing a few Greek phrases can enhance your experience, starting with ‘Yia sou’ (hello), ‘Efharisto’ (thank you), and ‘Pou ine i paralia?’ (where’s the beach?).

Greece Information

What’s the Climate Like?
Greece tends to be very warm in summer and there’s little rain. That being said, it’s always best to bring some layers to be on the safe side.

What’s the Currency?
In Greece, the official currency is the Euro. While credit cards are commonly used, it’s advisable to carry some cash in Euros as well. We recommend arriving with around 300 Euros, and you can easily access more cash from local ATMs when needed.

Do I Tip in Greece?
Today, tipping for good service is customary in the tourism and hospitality industry worldwide. Tipping your trip leader is also a common practice, and while it’s entirely at your discretion, most budget around $10 USD per day for this.

What Plugs Are Used?
Greece uses a “type C” and “type F” plug, the same as most European countries and several other places in the world. The voltage is 230V with 50 Hz frequency.

More Trip Details

How Many Go on the Trip?
These trips are intentionally intimate, accommodating a maximum of 16 travelers. Our group members span various ages, with approximately 90% falling in the 30s, 40s, and 50s range.

Will We Have a Trip Leader?
You’ll have a dedicated gay trip leader accompanying you throughout the journey. Their role is to make your Greece experience truly unforgettable by sharing expertise, eliminating travel hassles and ensuring you can fully immerse yourself in the Greek culture.

What Do I Bring?
We recommend you pack light, with breathable clothing and light layers. If there’s anything urgent you need that you’ve forgotten, you can always pick up a replacement in Athens.

Will I Need to Set Alarms?
We strive to avoid the jolt of an alarm clock during your trip. In Greece, your ‘rise and shine’ is ideally accompanied by the soothing sounds of waves or distant church bells. Occasionally, early departures may be necessary due to ferry schedules, but these are kept to a minimum.
