Day 1: Naples
Arrive in Naples and you’ll be transferred from the airport to your 4* hotel.
In the afternoon you’ll be taken on a private guided tour of the city, where you’ll see several churches: from the Duomo and the Gesù Nuovo Church up to S. Francesco di Paola, known for its neoclassical style. Later you’ll reach Castel dell’Ovo, a seaside castle whose name comes from a legend about the Roman poet Virgil and the oldest standing fortification in Naples. From here you can enjoy the beautiful sea view and admire Vesuvius. From Castel dell’Ovo you’ll reach Posillipo, the romantic residential quarter of the city located along the northern coast famous for its houses by the water.
You will visit “Parco Virginiano”, the place where Giacomo Leopardi was buried. Your gay-friendly guide will then accompany you along the ‘Borgo Village Gay’, a gay-friendly area in the heart of the city.
Day 2: Naples
Today you’ll visit the Phlegraean Fields, a large volcanic area lying mostly underwater. The area comprises of 24 craters and volcanic edifices. You’ll then experience a relaxing bath in a thermal area near the fields.
In the afternoon you’ll visit Procida, one of the Phlegraean Islands, where you’ll walk along its beautiful streets. Return to Naples and overnight.
Day 3: Naples to Pompeii
You’ll be driven in a private car to Pompeii. Once you arrive in Pompeii, your guide will take you on a walk where they will let you explore the history of the city that was destroyed by the volcanic eruption of Vesuvius in 79 BC. During the second part of the tour, you’ll visit the Herculaneum Ruins, the other city that was destroyed by the eruption.
Return to Naples.
Day 4: Naples to Sorrento
Private transfer to Sorrento. During the first part of the day, you’ll visit Sorrento’s city centre which has a special atmosphere: sky, sea and the smell of its world-renowned lemons make this city unique in the world. Explore the alleys, churches and shops, each which have a story to tell.
Free time in the afternoon.
Day 5: Amalfi Coast
Private transfer to Amalfi where you can choose between a boat trip or a walk downtown. In the afternoon you’ll visit Ravello, a town situated above the Amalfi Coast which is a popular tourist destination due to its scenic beauty. From there you’ll enjoy the beautiful panorama and the sight of Maiori and Minori, two little towns above the Amalfi Coast too. Return to Sorrento and overnight.
Day 6 and 7: Capri
Private transfer to Sorrento’s harbour where you’ll take a boat to Capri.
Immerse yourself in the luxury Capri lifestyle. Starting from the famous ‘Piazzetta’ you’ll visit the gardens inside emperor Augustus’ villa, the best place to see the famous sea stacks, also called “Faraglioni”.
You’ll then have more time to relax, go shopping in the boutiques or take a walk.
Day 8: Capri to Naples
Return to Naples in the morning before your private transfer to Caserta where you’ll visit the city’s main attraction, the Royal Palace. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it was built in the 18th century by the Italian architect Luigi Vanvitelli as a Versailles-like residence and it is one of the most visited places in the country. Inside are more than 1200 rooms, decorated in various styles and it’s also been the set for several famous movies. Inside the gardens, you’ll find statues from Pompeii, exotic plants as well as lakes and clearings.
Return to Naples and overnight.
Day 9 and 10: Ischia
Boat transfer to Ischia. You’ll be accompanied on a private tour of the island in the afternoon and the rest of the day is yours to explore and enjoy.
Spend a few days relaxing here before heading back to the mainland for your journey home.
