Where better to enjoy a rooftop cocktail than in the city that never sleeps, New York. Here's the OutOfOffice.com run down of our tried and tested best rooftop bars in New York.
Salon De Ning
New Yorkers aplenty visit Salon de Ning so you know it must be on point. With stunning views over Fifth Avenue and the skyline, this funky New York rooftop bar has two outdoor terraces as well as a great indoor setting. A recent redesign means that the Hamptons resort feel is now front and centre and the bar also serves up some of Manhattan's best DJs to spin the tunes.
Le Bain at the Standard
The Standard really needs no introduction. It's the one place that delivers time and time again. From the iconic Standard Grill to its prime position by the High Line, the bar is no exception. Le Bain at the Standard is a penthouse rooftop bar and its location in the Meatpacking District means that it also attracts world-famous DJs to accompany its awesome views. In summer you'll find a plunge pool on the dance floor and a vibey "grass"-covered roof.
Pod 39 Rooftop
Atop the Pod 39 hotel, you'll find its seasonal rooftop bar 17 floors up. Enjoy panoramic views of the city from the Hudson river to the East, the Freedom Tower to the South, the Empire State Building to the West and the Chrysler Building to the North. You'll find a buzzing bar scene features tequila-inspired cocktails.
This bar claims to be New York's highest rooftop bar. Located on the 54th floor, its views are undoubtedly some of the best the city offers. It's definitely worth booking here and you should consider continuing your evening at the nearby Hunt and Fish Club for dinner - one of our favourites. The view allows you to experience Times Square from a new vantage point and you can also see the Freedom Tower and the Chrysler Building. Definitely try the Cucumber Jewel.
With its 360 degree views, the Press Lounge in the INK hotel has an impressive view of the Manhattan skyline. It has a large terrace and comfortable inside bar. The Lounge offers a gorgeous perch and its glass-walled interior space on the 16th floor means you're never without a view, no matter the season. The views of the city, the Hudson River and the Intrepid are worth it.
Top Of The Strand
With views directly onto the Empire State Building and not far from Chelsea Market, the Top of the Strand is set atop The Strand Hotel and is perfectly located in Midtown. It has a retractable glass roof to show off the skyline no matter what the climate. Try the Mandarin Martini.
