You’ll arrive in Sydney, a city that dazzles with its spectacular harbor, beaches, culture, and laidback Aussie spirit. It’s an undisputed highlight of any trip down under. You’ll be there for the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, which takes place between the end of February and the start of March.
Flamboyant costumes and elaborate floats from around the world parade down Oxford Street in a dazzling spectacle. Late into the night, tens of thousands dance together at inclusive events and concerts, culminating in the legendary party at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Throughout it all, an atmosphere of acceptance and celebration empowers all to authentically be themselves.
Rising from the outback with a fiery orange intensity, Uluru (Ayers Rock) is one of Australia’s most iconic natural wonders. It’s also steeped in cultural significance, and on this Pride and Rock itinerary, you’ll be spending three nights learning about the history of Ayers Rock and exploring the wildlife-rich land that surrounds it.

Days 1 - 5
Sydney’s iconic Mardi Gras celebration explodes with color and pride, and you’ll head there when you get to this lively city. Witness dazzling costumes, floats, and performers during the world-famous LGBTQ+ street parade and party. Join in the festive atmosphere as the city comes alive with cultural events and over-the-top dance spectacles. Sydney Mardi Gras is an unforgettable experience.
Days 6- 8
Uluru is a site of massive significance, not just ecologically, but also to the First Nations communities of Australia. Leaving Sydney, you’ll have the chance to spend three days exploring and learning about this worldwide wonder alongside knowledgable local guides. Whilst the outback itself is a rugged and wild expanse, during your time at Uluru, you’ll be surrounded by the exquisite luxury of Sails in the Desert; a lush oasis where no detail has been missed in providing a truly unforgettable experience. The package also includes a once-in-a-lifetime excursion into the desert for dinner under the stars.
Days 9 - 12
Returning to Sydney, you’ll stay at the Shangri La, a modern institution boasting unparalleled views of the city and the ocean beyond. With prime access to most of Sydney’s best gay bars and clubs, you’ll be able to make the most of the final days of Mardi Gras.
