I am pleased to present to you your itinerary. We begin with one of my all-time favourite 5* properties on Elia Beach in the stunning island of Mykonos, the Myconian Avaton.
After our conversation, I realized the gorgeous island of Mykonos has everything you're looking for, from the beach resort vibe to the best hiking trails, and my favourite part – your own private pool from your sea-view room. I understand how special this trip is, and I made sure you would spend your 6 nights in absolute bliss.

I know you mentioned your love of boats, and as I reached the top end of your budget, I've included an optional extra excursion for you to consider – a boat adventure that can seamlessly integrate into your itinerary.

Following your honeymoon in Mykonos, you'll make your way back to the airport for a short flight over to Milan, Italy. Here, you'll collect your hire car to explore the Lake District as you make your way up to Stresa, where two nights await you. Your centrally located hotel ensures easy access to the wedding venue. This isn't usually somewhere that we send our clients and being at the beginning of the busy season I was somewhat limited with options for hotels, but this is a great option.
The Myconian Avaton is one of our favourite 5* beach resorts and it going to be a perfect place for your honeymoon, with that being said late May is a very popular time to visit and I am already seeing that the lower level rooms are already sold out over your dates so if you are loving what you are seeing, I would highly recommend we secure your honeymoon when you are ready as I would hate for your to miss out on the Seaview Pool Room.

Mykonos Town
Known as Chora (which means 'main town') by locals, Mykonos Town has a photo opportunity at every corner. Here, whitewashed cube-like homes contrast beautifully with brightly-painted wooden doors to make simple yet stunning contrasts. Expect to see pastel bougainvillaea draped fences in front of tiny Greek churches, stylish shops, and restaurants and bars lining the labyrinth of powder-white, walled lanes.
Mykonos Windmills
Walk here for a panoramic view of Mykonos Town and an Insta with Mykonian history. These windmills hark back to an era when wind power was used to grind grain and feed locals. This area was named Alefkandra back then (which means 'whitening') because it was where locals once hung their laundry. Stop by the small beach at the foot of the hill for another picturesque spot where the sea surf splashes wildly onto the shore. It’s the perfect place for a picnic – maybe with some great local bread.
Little Venice
The sunset views here will take your goddamn breath away. Be sure to secure a sea-facing spot at a cocktail bar to soak them in. For those wondering how such a place came to be, Little Venice’s history harks back to a simpler time on the island. It was built in the sixteenth century out of convenience. Pirates were a real threat then. Residents built balconies overhanging the water as an easy way to quickly load goods on and off ships without them getting stolen.
Cavo Paradiso
Whether you want a dive bar, a Greek music club, a cocktail lounge, an all-night dance club, a gay club or a beach club where you can dance on the sand (or on top of tables), the Mykonos summer party scene is packed with options. Open on Saturday and Tuesday (well, the early hours of Sunday and Wednesday, technically), the fun starts at 11 and ends long after the sun has come up. Cavo Paradiso will take you till dawn, with heavy hitters like Steve Aoki and Armin van Buuren on the decks.
Jet out to the beaches
If you believe the journey is essential to the experience, you’ll love this trip over sparkling turquoise seas to the island’s best beaches. The less-crowded strips of Agrari and Elia are perfect for sun-worshippers, whilst families will prefer the warm crystal waters and talc-soft sands of Ornos beach. Movers and shakers should make a beeline for Paradise beach, whose dusky sands littered with hip restaurants and cool bars are the dreamy backdrop for sets by world-class DJs.
Delos
On this tiny, sacred island – the mythical birthplace of the Greek god Apollo – you’ll find yourself among ancient ruins, including remnants of temples, theatres and villas. Although Delos is unpopulated now, the ruins prove it was considered a grand city of the Cyclades. Pop into the small museum that houses mosaics and artefacts found on this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kalafati
Mykonos is blessed with idyllic beaches of turquoise waters that meet fine powder sand. Many of them are also idyllic for windsurfers. Head to Kalafati, Platis Gialos or Ftelia to see how these annual summer winds become a challenging but fun natural force for surfers.
Archeological Museum of Mykonos
Go to the Archeological Museum of Mykonos for a look at ancient artefacts and marble statues. While you’re in town, pop into Lena's House, a unique folk museum in the form of a middle-class, 19th-century Mykonos house. The Aegean Maritime Museum tells the story of Greece’s maritime history and traditions, including the importance of the merchant ship.
Spend a night with the stars at Cine Manto
With its palm-tree-shaded restaurant and mega-sized screen set in lush gardens surrounding a lily-studded pond (inhabited by a pelican called Petros), Cine Manto, is an oasis for cinephiles. It takes some seeking out – it’s tucked into one of Chora’s bougainvillaea-shaded back alleys – but it’s well worth the effort for the thrill of watching Mamma Mia! and other classic movies as you chill beneath a canopy of stars.

This Cycladic isle is the Aegean's party island – but beyond the Mykonos hotels and buzzing beach clubs, there are an array of seafront restaurants with widescreen views of the water to tiny, authentic tavernas set further inland and farm-to-fork spots deep in the countryside, we asked an island insider for their hottest tips on the tables to book. Some are a touching distance from the prettiest places in Mykonos, while others require venturing a little off the beaten track – but all serve delicious food in beautiful settings.
I have added in some of my must-visits during your stay in the town.
M-Eating
Blending Cycladic traditions with a twist of modernity, Panagiotis Menardos is considered by his peers to be one of the finest chefs in the archipelago. Others on the island strive to be the most luxurious, but Menardos opted to serve quintiessential local food when he opened his restaurant in 2019. Every recipe has its roots deep in the Mykonian and Cycladic heritage and like the narrator of an epic, every year he adds a new culinary chapter to his gastronomic menu.
Rizes
Secluded out in Mykonos' beautiful countryside is Rizes, a farm-to-fork paradise. Surrounded by fields, tiny farmhouses, chicken coops and a stable, the restaurant resembles a rural village with its wide square. Under the pergola, a light breeze brings freshness together with the scent of freshly cut wheat to delight the senses.
Bagatelle Mykonos
The newly opened Bagatelle Mykonos, designed by Fabrizio Casiraghi, has one of the best locations in town. Right on the seafront, two minutes away from the iconic windmills, well-groomed guests gather to dine and party “à la française” in the open-air lounge or restaurant. At sunset, everyone will set down their cocktail or glass of wine and stroll joyfully to the seafront for a selfie in front of Bagatelle’s already famous front door.
Cantine du Faubourg
From Paris to Dubai, at one time in Ibiza and now in Mykonos, La Cantine opened in summer 2022 at its new venue facing the sea on trendy Ornos beach. Settled on a wide open-air terrace planted with olive trees in whose branches lanterns bob and sway at night, the decor has a distinct whiff of the French Riviera.
Nōema
In the heart of the bustling Chora, Nōema's lush courtyard offers an oasis for chilling out. Mineral tones, beautiful costumes inspired by orthodox cassocks and a good mix of electro and ethnics beats are the signature of Scorpios’ dream team. In this acme of bohemian-chic atmosphere, the award-winning chef, Athinagoras Kotsakos (food consultant to numerous restaurants in Greece) pays homage to the simplicity of traditional Greek taverna food and locally sourced products.
Scorpios
Members of Soho House will be thrilled to learn that Scorpios has joined the group– though it has (thankfully) remained largely unchanged since its purchase. The venue is located on Paraga beach and is regular haunt for celebrities in Mykonos, and you’ll find them taking part in yoga classes, sipping on world-class cocktails or joining the bohemian revolution through sacred music rituals. Scorpios is one of the most exclusive restaurants and beach clubs in Mykonos, so reservations should be made as far in advance as possible.

Best Trails in Mykonos
You said that you loved the outdoors and enjoying beautiful beaches, I had to include some of the best trails for you on the island of Mykonos.
Roads and trails lead to and around the enticing main town of Hora, as well as the island’s famous – and not-so-famous – beaches. You’ll find stretches of solitude amid wildflowers in the spring and early summer. You can even visit a working lighthouse with arresting views of nearby islands.
Waterfront and Windmills
1 mile (1.6km) round trip; 2-3 hours; easy
Leave the crowded passages of old-town Hora behind and get some seaside air on this walk, an excellent introduction to Mykonos. Start at white-washed Taxi Square (Plateia Manto Mavrogenous) and follow the harbor-front walk west to the Old Jetty. Walk to the end of the stone redoubt that protects Hora from the open sea, and you’ll see myriad tour boats buzzing amid swanky yachts and ferries bringing new hordes of holidaymakers.
Continue back around the waterfront until you reach Little Venice, the oldest – and most-photographed – part of Hora. You’ll no doubt spend much time getting blissfully lost in the warren of streets within – but for now, pause amidst the bougainvillea at one of the cafes with water views. Suitably restored, head south to the gentle walkway up to the seven windmills, which along with the pelicans, are the symbols of Mykonos. (note: you’ll be part of a crowd if it’s near sunset.) Wander the rocky shoreline before you plunge back into the Hora maelstrom.
South Coast beaches
Best coastal trail for beaches
4 miles (6.4km) one way; 3–5 hours; moderate
This beautiful walk takes in most of the famous beaches Mykonos is famous for. You can do it in one long swath of sun, sand and hedonism, or in segments between your beaches of choice. Know that in high season you’ll be far from alone, as many others flit on foot from beach to beach to revel in the island’s high-energy vibe.
Start with the wonderful chaos of Ornos Beach, before you head southeast along the narrow cove and up and over the modest, vacation-rental-dotted hill to Psarou Beach, where you’ll find a mannered crowd reading Vogue and The Economist. A few minutes southeast brings you to the long swath of white sand at Platys Gialos. Rent something fun from the excellent water-sports center and cool off in the refreshing Aegean.
Continue along a superb beach walkway to the popular cove at Paranga and take the short detour down the narrow peninsula to immerse yourself in water views. Continue on the coastal trail around the small headlands to Paradise Beach, one of the most famous in all the Mediterranean. Meander the tangle of dirt roads snaking around the next headland to find Super Paradise, home to the island’s most raucous clubs. From here you can catch a small boat (caïque) to the beaches back west or go east to the appealing Agrari and Elia beaches.
Armenistis Lighthouse
Best hike for escaping the crowds
3.5 miles (5.6km) one way; 2–3 hours; moderate
You can forget you’re on one of the very most popular Greek islands on this hike, which finishes at a working lighthouse with sublime views.
From Hora, follow the waterfront past Agia Anna Beach, the Old Port and the jumble of the New Port. Then, turn inland and climb the gentle hills, choosing narrow dirt roads that head north. The density of cubic white holiday apartments gradually thins as you leave the harbor behind. From February through June, wildflowers enliven the palette and the hardy Mykonos shrubs are at their greenest.
Look for the glassy tip of the Armenistis Lighthouse to poke onto the horizon as you walk the gravel and dirt roads. You can peer up into the tower from the base of the still-in-use lighthouse, which dates to 1891. From this knoll on the northwest tip of Mykonos, Tinos rises out of the impossibly blue Aegean and seems much closer than its 15km-distance. Return to Hora by different roads for some variety or summon a taxi.
