Welcome to the enchanting world of Greece, I am delighted to present you with your very special updated luxury Greece itinerary exploring the ancient City of Athens, the stunning Athens Riviera, the enchanting island of Mykonos, and the romantic island of Santorini.

I have made the following changes to the itinerary:

Amended the dates of the itinerary to begin on the 19th of September.
Changed the hotel in Santorini to the stunning Dana Villas as the Charisma suites sadly did not have the availability on the new dates.
I have included an additional night in Athens at the end of your trip, giving you ease of access to the airport for your flight home. I have also included the ferry back to Athens along with the transfers to coincide with this.
Included one night at the Electra Palace for your final night in Greece.

I checked about reversing the trip but getting to Santorini on that first day was proving difficult, I think this would be the best way to make the most of your time in Greece and I think it will be the most seamless way to travel to all of these amazing places.

I am currently awaiting a response for a tour in Athens Riveria as I know you wanted to include something really special.

Welcome to Athens

With equal measures of grunge and grace, Athens is a heady mix of ancient history and contemporary cool.

The magnificent Acropolis, visible from almost every part of the city, is the hub around which Athens still revolves. This temple city, built in the 5th century BC, serves as a daily reminder to Greeks of their heritage and the city's many transformations. All over the urban basin, rooftops and balconies angle toward the landmark, a block of milky marble atop a steep-sided hill. Pull up your own chair, settle in and allow time to appreciate the Acropolis' many moods, as the light shifts and the clouds cast their shifting shadows.

The cultural and social life of Athens plays out amid, around and in landmarks that are centuries old, if not millennia. The remnants of Ancient Greece get the most attention, of course, thanks to a little thing called democracy. Oh, and mythology, and drama, and philosophy. But don't overlook the 'later' years: thousand-year-old Byzantine churches, for instance, which squat, unruffled in the middle of streets and attached to hillsides. Ottoman traces can be seen in architecture and in food. And the neoclassical style of the 19th century adds elegance all over the centre.

Although Athenians have endured difficult circumstances since the start of the economic crisis in 2009, the city as a whole crackles with energy in art shows, political debates and even on the walls of derelict buildings, as Athens has become one of Europe's most noted spots for street art. Creative surprises lie around nearly every corner, so be sure to leave room in your schedule for spontaneous discovery: buy a ticket to that dance show that's just starting as you walk by, or sit down at the restaurant where the musicians are setting up. You'll be rewarded.

So, while the curated minibar delicatessen should tide you over, the Agora awaits some of the best food in town, or fresh market ingredients with which to make your own magic in one of the dedicated kitchens.

A further step up in size, the LARGE offers the complement of a child bed in addition to a king-sized raised four-poster. The contemporary open plan, loosely screened by retro breeze blocks used on the Greek islands in the ’60’s, includes an open closet as well as a wireless work area with Marshall speakers. Custom lights, fittings and furniture complement a muted greyscale with touches of brass and black steel. Floors transition from walnut parquets to terrazzo, patterned tiles and grey marble in the wet areas. The bathroom is stocked with natural products that are custom-made for Ergon House by Physis Laboratory. It’s the ideal room for small families, combined with the added appeal of our communal kitchens in which to cook fresh produce from the downstairs market.

Athens | Historic Private Tour

Enter the Acropolis from the south slope to avoid the crowds and also to visit the Dionysus sanctuary and Dionysus Theatre built in the 5th century BC. Explore the mighty Acropolis on foot to see the glorious Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, the Nike Temple, the Agrippa Monument, and other highlights. Learn more about its history, observe the statues from the archaic period, Caryatids, and of course the Parthenon Hall.
