For the moment I haven't included flights as I wanted to nail down the itinerary first, I know this is coming up higher than the amount you were looking to spend. Japan has gone absolutely crazy these days with the amount of people wanting to go there which has ultimately increased the prices in general.
I do think this itinerary ticks off everything that we spoke about and  I am so excited to hear your thoughts on the itinerary.
Let me know the best time for us to talk through your Japan Adventure.

Text Day 04 - Tokyo to Kyoto, Dinner with a Maiko
Today we will be heading to Kyoto, the traditional heart of Japan, which is known for its 2,000 shrines and temples, including 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
After checking out of our hotel, we will be picked up by a driver who will take us to Tokyo Station to catch a train to Kyoto Station. Once we arrive in Kyoto, we will be greeted by a representative who will transfer us to our hotel. After checking in, we can relax and settle into our new home for the next two days. In the early afternoon, we can enjoy some leisure time exploring Kyoto.
For dinner, we have a special experience planned. We will be delving into the world of Geisha culture with a dinner with a Maiko. We will start with a guided walk through the atmospheric streets of Gion, Kyoto's Geisha district.
Then, we will have the opportunity to dine in the company of a Maiko, an apprentice Geisha. During dinner, we will have fascinating conversations, witness graceful traditional dances, and participate in lively local drinking games.
This evening will provide an in-depth and exclusive look at Japan's geisha culture in Kyoto. We will join a guide for a walking tour of Gion, followed by a memorable dinner with a Maiko.
The guide will provide an introduction to geiko (Kyoto's geisha) and their maiko apprentices. We will explore the atmospheric streets, passing by local shops and restaurants on our way to Yasaka Shrine.
From there, we will continue to Hanami-koji, where we will see lavish tea shops lining the roadside. We will cross Kyoto's famous Tatsumi Bashi Bridge, passing by a legendary teahouse and a small street shrine.
Our walk will take us along Shirakawa Canal, where cherry trees line the streets, creating a charming atmosphere. Depending on the location of the restaurant, we may need to backtrack to one of the places mentioned above.
After the walking tour, we will enter a local restaurant for a memorable dinner with a Maiko. We will enjoy a traditional multi-course meal called kaiseki ryori and have the opportunity to interact with the Maiko, learning about her craft and the world of geisha. During dinner, the Maiko will entertain us with traditional dances and teach us popular Japanese drinking games.
We will also have the chance to take photos with the Maiko, capturing memories to share with our loved ones back home. After bidding farewell to our hostess, we will return to the hotel.

Explore the beautiful sights of Kyoto, starting with Arashiyama. This district is famous for its expansive bamboo grove and the majestic Hozugawa River.
Begin your day with a leisurely walk through the bamboo groves before visiting the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Tenryu-ji. Inside the temple grounds, you'll find a captivating landscaped garden with a pond surrounded by rocks and pine trees, all set against the backdrop of the Arashiyama Mountains.
Afterward, return to the bustling avenue filled with local shops and restaurants. If you're lucky, you may even spot some locals wearing yukata, a traditional summer kimono.
Before leaving Arashiyama, take a quick detour to Kimono Forest, a small alley behind a souvenir shop that showcases various designs of kimono on pillars. Next, make your way to the stunning Kinkaku-ji, also known as the Golden Pavilion.
While the temple grounds may be smaller compared to others in Kyoto, the pavilion itself is truly impressive, as it is completely covered in handmade gold leaves.

During the 8th century, Nara served as Japan's capital for 74 years, and many of the temples and shrines built during that time still exist today.
Nara is a small town, with most of its main tourist attractions located around Nara Park. Visitors can encounter a large number of tame deer in the area. Some popular sites to visit include Todaiji Temple, which houses Japan's largest Buddha and is the world's largest wooden building, and Kasuga Taisha, Nara's most famous shrine.
In the afternoon, return to Kyoto and visit Fushimi Inari Taisha. This Shinto shrine is known for its thousands of vermilion torii gates that line the paths through the forests of Mt Inari. Established in 711 AD, the shrine is famous for the striking contrast between the torii gates and the surrounding nature.
A light hike to the top of the mountain and back takes about three hours and offers numerous photo opportunities. From the top, visitors can enjoy a beautiful view of Kyoto and the surrounding hills. Stay overnight in Kyoto.

Join a local tea master in Kyoto for an authentic Japanese tea ceremony. Experience the customs and history of this ritualistic event in the tea master's private residence.
Learn about the connection between tea ceremonies and Zen Buddhism while learning how to prepare and pour tea in the traditional way.

Choose from four different start times for today's activity: 09:30, 11:00, 13:00, or 15:30.

Immerse yourself in one of Japan's quintessential arts – the tea ceremony. Meet with a tea master in their private residence for a hands-on cultural experience. Hear about the tea master's years of study to perfect the art of the sado, or tea ceremony.
Before preparing the tea, receive an introduction to the history of the ceremony. Discover its origins and how the rituals practiced in the ceremony are closely tied to the beliefs of Zen Buddhism. Then, follow the tea master's step-by-step instructions to prepare the tea, while learning the reasons behind each movement.

Once the tea is ready, the serving process begins. Like the preparation, the serving of tea is filled with meaningful rituals. Before sipping the tea, enjoy delicious confectioneries that sweeten the tongue and balance the bitterness of the matcha tea.

Enhance today's experience by wearing a traditional Japanese kimono. These elegant garments are traditionally made of various fabrics such as hemp, linen, silk, and silk brocade. Learn about the fabrics, dyeing and weaving techniques, and the use of patterns and motifs to reflect the seasons. Appreciate the attention to detail required to wear a kimono, as they consist of multiple separate pieces that historically had to be taken apart and washed by hand.
After taking plenty of souvenir photos, return the kimono and continue exploring the city for the rest of the day. Bid farewell to the tea master and cherish the lasting memories of this incredible glimpse into Japanese culture and tradition.
After the tea ceremony, travel to Hiroshima by private transportation and Shinkansen ride from Kyoto.

From mainland Hiroshima, you can take a short ferry ride to Miyajima, a small sacred island in the Seto Inland Sea. While on the island, you can explore and try some local delicacies such as oysters, saltwater eel, and maple-leaf-shaped cakes.
Start your visit with Itsukushima Shrine, which is considered one of Japan's three most beautiful views. This shrine, built in the 6th century, has a unique pier-like structure and its vermillion o-torii gate appears to be floating in the water during high tide.
Afterward, take a walk towards the mountain to visit Daisho-in, the most popular Buddhist temple on the island. Along the stairs leading to the main hall, you'll find a row of spinning sutras. It is believed that spinning these sutras will bring blessings.

In the early afternoon, return to Hiroshima to visit Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Here, you can also see the A-Bomb Dome and the Children's Peace Monument, which are both deeply moving.

The distance and journey time from JR Hiroshima Station to JR Miyajimaguchi Station is approximately 30 minutes.
From Miyajimaguchi Station, it's a 10-minute walk to Miyajimaguchi Port.
Then, it's another 10-minute ferry ride to Miyajima Port.
