About your itinerary

? Don't forget that if something isn't quite right we can make changes to the itinerary.
Dear Rachel & Emma,
Welcome to Greece.
I am super pleased to present to you your updated itinerary for Greece. Including Milos, Naxos and Athens.
On this updated itinerary I have been sure to leave your international flights to yourselves, changed all ferries to flights between mainland/islands. Changed your time in Paxos to Athens.
This itinerary is coming in at $8,972.00 USD, I have taken a look at alternatives on the islands in terms of properties, these really are the best of the best for the price we are looking at to spend.
I cannot wait to catch up in a few minutes and talk over the updates.
Warm regards,
Shaye Jolley

Top Things To Do in Milos

Text Top Things To Do in Milos

Plaka, Milos
Plaka, the beautiful capital of Milos, sits on top of a rock formation overlooking the sea. The traditional Greek stone pathways lead between white cottages and vibrant blue doors, with pink flowers creeping up the walls. It’s easy to get lost in the maze of streets, as they were made this way to confuse pirates! Its high vantage point makes it an excellent place to see views out across the sea and the rest of Milos. Enjoy slow evenings here, eating food outside, people-watching, and enjoying one of the epic Milos sunsets.
Sunset or Sunrise at Plaka Castle
This has to be one of the most memorable things to do in Milos! All that’s left of this old Venetian castle is the old walls, and in its place is a beautiful white-domed church that sits high up on the hill above the sea. It’s a short hike to the top, and well worth it for the stunning views. We recommend getting up for sunrise to have this place all to yourself and see the soft dawn colors over the island.
Kleftiko Beach, Milos
Once you visit Kleftiko Beach, you won’t ever want to leave! Huge white cliffs and rock formations tower out over the gorgeous clear sea. Because of how these rocks have been formed, there are lots of archways and small pools, which are fantastic for snorkeling. Beautiful colored fish can be seen everywhere at Kleftiko Beach in Milos. All of this makes Kleftiko Beach the most iconic beach on the whole island. This popularity means you’ll see many snorkelling and boat tours advertised, which normally leave from other coastal towns on the island. Afterward, relax on the boat or lie on one of the flat rocks near the sea, jumping off into the cool water. Make sure to spot the wild goats that roam nearby!
Sarakiniko Beach, Milos
Another popular beach on Milos is the stunning moonlike landscapes of Sarakiniko. The whiteness and shapes of the rocks are more like another world than a typical beach. Its exposed position means that over time the winds and waves have shaped the cliffs and rocks into unique shapes, bridges, and archways for you to jump off and explore from. There’s also a shipwreck to take photos of and swim out to. You can get there by bus or by renting an ATV or moped and zooming across the island.
Discover Catacombs and Ancient Theater of Milos
The Catacombs of Milos sit next to the Ancient Theater (200 meters away) and close to the town of Trypiti. The area is well known for the caves that have been cut into volcanic rock and used as burial chambers. It’s also a great place to go on Milos and cool off after a hot day outside! The Ancient Theater is the most ancient historical site on the whole island, dating all the way back to the 3rd century BC. The marble theater rows have been carefully preserved, and sitting here you can really transport yourself back to that time. It’s thought that in its day it would have held 7000 people! Now it can hold 700 and is still used for musical and theater performances from time to time. Besides its history, the view is breathtaking too, as it sits on the cliff looking down to the glistening sea. It’s also easily accessible from the nearby town of Trypiti; you can walk there in just 15 minutes or drive on your moped in 3 minutes. Another bonus is it’s free to enter!
Klima Fishing Village
This charming little fishing village is different from the typical blue and white villages you’ll see in Greece. Here, each house that faces the water has a different coloured door, painted by the fisherman to recognize which one was theirs. Nowadays, most houses are not used by fishermen, but as holiday rentals, so you can even stay right on the water here yourself! Coming here for sunset and watching the colours in the water against the colourful houses is truly magical – a photographer’s heaven!
Diving at Shipwrecks
If you’re interested in diving or want to try diving for the first time, Milos is a great place to do it! The sea is super clear and home to incredible marine life. Between the three islands of Milos, Kimelos, and Polyegos, the seafloor is packed with shipwrecks that are fascinating to swim amongst and explore. Check out the shipwreck that lies close to Kleftiko beach too!

Embark on an unforgettable adventure along Milos' south coast with a private sailboat charter, designed for up to eight travelers who seek an extraordinary experience. This surprisingly affordable package ensures a touch of luxury, featuring a tender to navigate the caves, shower, restroom facilities, and even a high-quality Bluetooth sound system for your favorite tunes—ensure roaming is enabled for a seamless experience.
Your journey begins at Agia Kyriaki, sailing towards the mesmerizing white cliffs and coves of Kleftiko on your private yacht. The flexible tour allows for additional swimming stops and visits to other beaches, tailoring the experience to your preferences. Ideal for honeymoons and anniversaries, this package includes snacks, water, soft drinks, and a bottle of wine to enhance your sailing experience.
As you traverse the crystal-clear waters, you'll encounter the impressive Gerakas Beach with its rocky geological formations, accessible only by boat. Take a refreshing swim surrounded by a dramatic landscape. The route also passes by the secluded Tsigrado Beach, nestled between cliffs, and Firiplaka Beach, known for its silver sand and vibrant coastline.
Gerontas Beach, with its fine white rocks and natural bridge, adds to the scenic beauty along the way. The highlight, however, is Kleftiko, a series of white volcanic rocks, sea-level caves, and sea stacks with a rich history of being used by pirates as a shelter. Dive into the crystal-clear waters and explore the wonders of this natural phenomenon.

Top Things To Do in Naxos

Text Top Things To Do in Naxos
Wander the beautiful streets of the old town, Chora
Santorini and Mykonos seem to get all the attention over on Instagram, but like I said above, Naxos’s stunning old town far surpasses them in a lot of ways. Pretty, intimate, winding streets with all the classic Greek tiled floors and blue doors, yet free from other travellers walking through them in their numbers. It’s all entirely pedestrianised, too.
Naxos' old town is a proper wonderland, typically Greek and endlessly intriguing. You think you’ve covered nearly all the flower-lined streets and then you turn a corner and find a whole new warren of them full of tavernas and shops.

Walk up to the Temple of Apollo (Portara)
This lovely walk is one of the top things to do in Naxos and won't leave you disappointed! The Temple of Apollo is the main landmark of Naxos and the first thing that strikes you when you arrive.
The temple stands on top of the hill on the little islet of Palatia, which was once properly part of Naxos but is now only clinging on via a slim causeway. Palatia is tiny and you can walk around its circumference in a few minutes. This means that the Temple of Apollo is stunning from every angle, with a marble doorway to frame either the island or the sea for your viewing pleasure. There are some other ruins around the main frame, too.
This is one of the things to do in Naxos that you can happily do more than once over the course of your stay if you have time. Visiting Portara in full sunshine is great, but as the sun sets you’ll see it in a new light. Literally.
Dine at Outdoor Restaurant with Lampshades
The lampshades of Naxos may well become the next most-photographed thing on Instagram. They’re definitely incredibly picturesque and worth seeking out while you’re in the old town.
Buy a ‘magic’ Pythagorean Cup
Ceramics are a big deal on Naxos. There are shops everywhere, and I am sure you won't be able to resist buying one of the Pythagorean wine cups made on Naxos, complete with a ‘magic’ trick. A Pythagorean cup is a practical joke designed to teach any greedy drinkers who don’t know their limits a lesson.
Pythagoras – yes, he of the theorem that everyone learns in school and then forgets in real life – apparently also invented this cup. If you fill it up beyond a certain point, it creates a siphon effect and all the booze pours out of the bottom, ruining the drinker’s outfit and of course delivering much hilarity for all their mates.

Indulge your culinary senses in the heart of Naxos with this immersive half-day cooking experience. Set against the backdrop of a traditional village, you'll delve into the art of Greek cuisine using locally-sourced, fresh, and organic ingredients. Picture yourself plucking homegrown vegetables straight from the garden, adding an authentic touch to your creations.
This hands-on cooking lesson goes beyond the ordinary, revealing local culinary secrets not found in recipe books. The small-group setting ensures a personalized experience, allowing you to truly connect with the traditional flavors of Naxos.
As you craft your dishes, absorb the essence of Greek gastronomy, and once the culinary magic is complete, gather with your fellow enthusiasts to savor the delicious fruits of your labor. This experience promises not just a meal, but a journey into the rich tapestry of Naxian culinary traditions.

Naxos, the largest island in the Cyclades, is a paradise for hikers. With its diverse landscapes, stunning coastline, and ancient ruins, there are plenty of options for exploring the island on foot. Here are some of the best hikes on Naxos:
1. Mount Zas: This is the highest peak in the Cyclades and offers breathtaking views of the island. The hike starts from the village of Filoti and takes you through a beautiful landscape of olive groves and rocky terrain. The trail is well-marked and takes about 3-4 hours to reach the summit.
2. Apeiranthos to Koronos: This hike takes you through two traditional villages, Apeiranthos and Koronos, offering a glimpse into the local culture and architecture. The trail passes through terraced fields, ancient stone paths, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The hike takes about 3-4 hours to complete.
3. Kouros Statue Hike: This hike takes you to the ancient Kouros statues, which are giant marble statues dating back to the 6th century BC. The trail starts from the village of Melanes and takes you through a scenic valley, passing by olive groves and orchards. The hike takes about 2-3 hours round trip.

Accommodation Ergon House for 3 nights
Completing this holistic hospitality experience built on the foundations of Greek Food, Ergon House offers contemporary living spaces spread over the floors above the marketplace. All rooms include the hotel's signature breakfast and come in four sizes, with privileged access to communal kitchens and lounges, a gym and a panoramic rooftop terrace.
The spaces are a collaboration with leading local designers and artists – the tribute to Greece ever-present in natural materials, traditional craft and references to the vernacular, paired with a strong contemporary line.
Large, double-glazed windows invite all the spectacle and none of the soundtrack to views of the Parthenon and city, or the buzz of the Agora. Seamless service is a given and we’ve done away with in-room dining because the whole Ergon House experience places food centre stage.
So, while the curated minibar delicatessen should tide you over, the Agora awaits some of the best food in town, or fresh market ingredients with which to make your own magic in one of the dedicated kitchens.

Every comfort you need is considered in SMALL’s compact space with custom mood lights, fittings and furniture, arranged in an open layout that is loosely screened by the retro chic of breeze blocks used on the Greek islands in the ‘60s. The twin beds or a raised four-poster bed reminiscent of the traditional ‘ontades’ of Pelion is the centrepiece to ultra-contemporary interiors that feature an open closet and wireless work area.

Natural daylight floods through large double-glazed windows with atrium views as well as a glass brick feature wall. In the wet areas, walnut parquets transition to grey marble and patterned tiles inspired by medieval ‘xysta’ motifs found on the island of Chios. Beautiful basins, hand-carved from time-worn marble steps, are a pleasing contrast to sleek, brushed brass fixtures in a bathroom stocked with natural products that are custom-made for Ergon House.
