About your itinerary

? Don't forget that if something isn't quite right we can make changes to the itinerary.
Welcome to Scandinavia
It was so lovely to chat with you and hear all about your upcoming adventures this summer. I know you were undecided on where to travel as you and Jo enjoy plenty of time in Europe. Knowing Scandinavia was on your bucket list, I wanted to include everything we spoke about on our call and I have ensured there is lots of structure and fun things for you both to do. I am therefore delighted to present your full 2-week itinerary including time in Copenhagen, Oslo, Flam, and Bergen.
Each of your hotels are perfectly located to enjoy each of the cities and with local attractions on the doorstep, exploring in your free time is made easy. I have included breakfast at every location and you'll also enjoy breakfast and dinner at the Fretheim Hotel.
When we spoke you said that you love hiking, kayaking, and arts and museums. I am so pleased to say that I have included some INCREDIBLE activities throughout the itinerary, this has pushed the price up but I wanted to send over what an itinerary could look like and then you and Jo can look through it and let me know where you would like to bring it down.
As I mentioned, I know we are coming in over the $16k we spoke about but if you can stretch I can promise it will be 100% worth it. Saying that we can certainly bring it down with a few tweaks with the tours we have included for you.
I hope you love the itinerary as much as I have loved putting it together for you! Please do reach out of you have any questions before we catch up.
Enjoy and speak soon.
Best wishes,

Your guide will also take you down Strøget, one of Europe's longest pedestrian streets filled with designer shops, boutiques, restaurants and cafes. The stretch is 1.1 kilometers long and runs from Kongens Nytorv to City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen).
Finally, you'll pass by the magical Tivoli Gardens amusement park. Fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen visited many times, as did Walt Disney and many other celebrities, who all fell in love with the gardens.

The castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings, Christian IV, in the early 17th century. Both the exterior and parts of the interior look as they did 400 years ago.
Inside, you'll experience a journey through time in the king’s private chambers, bathrooms, and glorious representation rooms. Each space is more intriguing than the next—decorated with royal portraits by famous artists, amazing wall carpets, shiny silverware, wax figures of former inhabitants, and exquisitely constructed furniture.

This boat tour will take you around the historic canals of the old city center. You’ll see main attractions such as Amalienborg Castle, The Opera House, and the charming canals of Christianshavn and Frederiksholm.

3 hours Christianshavn – Private Food Tour
Nyhavn’s memorial anchor, is our meeting place. The canal area is super popular with locals and visitors. New culinary concepts seem to pop up this area even though it is an incredibly old part of town. The canal is a super photo stop and home to one of the most popular Nordic thin crust, pizza places in town, Gorm’s. The crust is sourdough and all the dough stems from the original made in 2008.  At the edge of the waterfront, we will cross the famous Kissing bridge. Connecting one island to another we land on Christianshavn, also known as Little Amsterdam. We visit the popular Bro’ens Gadekøkken which offers a streetfood environment. We will enjoy a taste of Copenhagen here. Zigzagging along, over another bridge to Holmen, we will go thru the King’s gate into the “Kuglegården” where the Navy built ships and armed them from the canal alongside. There is wonderful maritime history in the area, we cross another foot bridge where we will enjoy the canal area and learn the best stories of Christianshavn’s commercial background. Some tastings are coming up soon, including handmade chocolates from Confecture. Our Saviour Church with its reversed 400+ step external staircase is a must see as we make our way towards the Hippie establishment from the ´70s, Christiania. While we may not officially guide you here, nor may you take photos, it is worth a peek inside and our last taste of Copenhagen today.
Duration 3h- walking tour

5 hours Forest to Fjord Hike – Private Tour
Sustainability: This service is 'green'
On this Oslo walking tour, we’ll start with a metro ride through the hills of the city and into the dense pine forest – you’ll be impressed by how quickly the cityscape gives way to the wilderness. We’ll travel from sea level to a point nearly 500 meters (1,500 feet) above the city and the fjords, allowing us to gaze out at some of the area’s best views.
We’ll then arrive in the Oslo “marka” and navigate rocky passages and walking trails as you make your way up to the viewpoint of Vettakollen, a “locals only” destination for one of the best views in all of Oslo. Along the way, your guide will tell you all about Norwegian culture and history and you’ll make stops at landmarks such as the historic farm of Frognerseteren – a typical example of Norwegian wooden architecture which now serves as a charming café.
It's possible to include an optional stop at the iconic Holmenkollen ski jump tower – a “must” for any ski enthusiast or adrenaline seeker. This stop depends on time and fitness as it adds 2 extra kilometres of uphill hiking.
You’ll enjoy life’s simple pleasures by picking berries and stopping for a picnic lunch atop the summit looking out over the fjords below. After lunch, you’ll head down to Sognsvann, one of Oslo’s prettiest lakes and a popular spot with locals who come to relax and cool off in the refreshing water. You’ll take a well-deserved dip in the pristine waters after our walk. The metro is just next to the lake so you have easy access back to the city at the end of the tour.

Tickets for public transportation are included
Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure.

The Flåm Railway is one of Norway's major and most spectacular tourist attractions. Before you jump into the kayak and go out on the fjords we will spend some time getting to know the kayaks, adjust your seating and show you some simple paddling techniques to make it as comfortable and safe as possible. The trip then departs from the beach in Flåm and goes out along the Aurlandsfjord.
There is a lot of history that goes far back in time in the Aurlandsfjord and this trip we will kayak out to Fronneset. Fronneset has stone-graves that date back to the time when the vikings ruled the area. From Fronnes we have a good view over Otternes Bygdetun which has a rich history that our guides will spend some time telling you about.
Kayak out in the footsteps of the vikings as our guides tell you about the area and surroundings.

Travel Advice

It is important to seek independent and up-to-date advice when travelling to any foreign country. Many of our customers ask us to keep them up-to-date on the existing legal position regarding LGBT rights in the country to which they are travelling. You can find up-to-date details on our website under the country which you are travelling to. They are provided as a guide only and laws can change frequently. You should seek advice from the relevant authorities and embassies before travel (if applicable).

It is a condition of booking with Out Of Office that you have adequate insurance cover for your trip at the time of booking. Please note that as each booking is tailor-made for you we only confirm the itinerary once we have received a deposit. There is a small chance that availability on some items quoted may change.
