Taking place from 17 February to 5 March 2023, Sydney WorldPride is already shaping up to be an all-out celebration of queerness in one of the world’s most exciting and cosmopolitan cities. With a massive range of dance parties, an opening concert headlined by Kylie Minogue, and community events, there is something for everyone, regardless of your definition of pride. From the Mardi Gras Parade, starting on Oxford Street and snaking its way through the city, to the Live and Proud opening concert, Sydney’s streets will be awash with rainbow colours.

The event will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the first Australian Gay Pride Week, and the fifth anniversary of marriage equality in Australia. It’ll also mark 45 years since Sydney held its first Mardi Gras parade. The first time WorldPride has been held in the Southern Hemisphere, the celebrations are guaranteed to be impressive, with hundreds of parties, community events, and pop-ups taking over Sydney’s streets between the 17th of February and the 5th of March 2023.
Starting on historic Oxford Street in the Darlinghurst gay district, the 2023 WorldPride Parade promises to be one of the most visually exciting spectacles of the 2023 pride calendar. Thousands of marchers, floats, and sensational live performers will come together to mark decades of LGBTQ+ triumph and to demand those rights that still need fighting for.
