When to Visit Flamingo Beach
Flamingo Beach can be enjoyed year-round thanks to Aruba’s consistently warm and sunny weather. The dry season, from December to May, is the most popular time to visit, offering perfect conditions with warm temperatures, clear skies, and calm waters. During this time, you can make the most of the island’s picturesque beauty while avoiding any rain.
The wet season, which runs from June to November, typically brings brief showers but is still a fantastic time to visit due to smaller crowds. Aruba lies outside the hurricane belt, so even during this season, you’re unlikely to experience severe weather. Whether you visit in the high or low season, the flamingos will always be there to welcome you.
How to Get to Flamingo Beach
Flamingo Beach is part of Renaissance Island, a private retreat exclusively accessible to guests of the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. If you’re staying at the resort, complimentary water taxis will whisk you away to the island in just under 10 minutes. These boats depart regularly from the hotel’s private dock.
If you’re not staying at the Renaissance, day passes to Renaissance Island are available for purchase, but they are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. These passes can be booked through the hotel and include access to Flamingo Beach, Iguana Beach (the family-friendly section of the island), and all the island’s facilities. However, it’s best to check availability in advance, as the passes are highly sought after, especially during peak travel periods.

The flamingos are Caribbean flamingos, a species native to the region, known for their vibrant pink feathers. Their striking colour comes from their natural diet, which includes carotenoid-rich algae and crustaceans (we don’t suggest you take up this diet). Though not originally from Aruba, the flamingos have been well cared for by the resort, living in a carefully maintained habitat where they are free to roam the shores of the adults-only Flamingo Beach. The calm, shallow waters and quiet environment of the island provide an ideal setting for these elegant birds to thrive.
