? Our group trips are a great chance to travel with others. We also recommend adding in a few extra nights tailor-made to ensure you build the perfect itinerary.

From the moment we first hear the stories, ancient Egypt captures the imagination like nowhere else on Earth. A civilisation over 4,500 years old, filled with mystery, grandeur and extraordinary achievements. Standing at the base of the Great Pyramids, wandering through tombs adorned with hieroglyphics, or gazing up at towering temple columns, history does not just feel real, it surrounds you. Over ten unforgettable days, the pages of history books come vividly to life in what can only be described as an epic journey.

This itinerary is thoughtfully designed for travellers who want to experience Egypt in comfort, confidence and depth. While the atmosphere remains relaxed and social, this trip includes more structure than some of our other adventures. Expect earlier starts to avoid the heat and crowds, carefully planned days, and enhanced inclusions to ensure a smooth and secure experience throughout. Every detail has been considered so you can focus on discovery, wonder and enjoyment.

Please note that Ramadan in 2026 runs from 17 February to 19 March. It is a unique time to visit Egypt and, in tourist areas, you will notice minimal impact. Some sites may close slightly earlier, but our itinerary is planned accordingly. As always, the choice is yours, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.

More Information

Egypt presents a highly challenging environment for LGBTQ+ individuals due to its conservative societal norms and strict legal framework. While same-sex sexual activity is not explicitly criminalized under Egyptian law, authorities frequently use vague morality or public decency laws to target LGBTQ+ individuals, leading to arrests, detentions, and harassment. Reports of mistreatment during detention further highlight the severe risks faced by the LGBTQ+ community in Egypt.

Public displays of affection or expressions of LGBTQ+ identity are highly discouraged, as they may attract negative attention or legal consequences. Societal attitudes remain deeply conservative, with LGBTQ+ individuals often facing stigma, discrimination, and rejection within their families and communities.

Despite these challenges, there is a small but resilient LGBTQ+ community in Egypt, as well as underground advocacy efforts. However, visibility is limited due to the risks of persecution. Online platforms have sometimes served as spaces for connection, though these too are heavily monitored.

For LGBTQ+ travellers, Egypt’s rich cultural heritage and iconic landmarks may be enticing, but it is essential to exercise caution, adhere to local customs, and prioritise safety. While Egypt remains a culturally significant destination, the lack of legal protections and societal acceptance makes it a difficult and unsafe environment for openly LGBTQ+ individuals.
