? Our group trips are a great chance to travel with others. We also recommend adding in a few extra nights tailor-made to ensure you build the perfect itinerary.

The history of Egypt is unrivalled. The pyramids were the largest standing buildings in the world until Lincoln Cathedral was built in 1311 AD. Egypt’s Dynastic Period stretches way back to 3100BCE and continued until 30BCE with Cleopatra, Egypt’s last independent pharaoh – she opted to drink snake poison rather than submit to the Romans. Egyptian art carried on, nearly unchanged for thousands of years as other empires rose and fell.

On this gay group trip, you’ll see the highlights, including the Valley Of The Kings, Luxor and take a luxurious cruise down the Nile. You have to see the wonders of ancient Egypt at least once in a lifetime. This trip is the best way to maximise your experience of an ancient and fascinating culture.

In detail

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Days 1, 2 And 3 - Cairo

Our Egypt group trips begins, of course, at the Pyramids of Giza. You’ll be met at the airport and transferred to our accommodation overlooking the pyramids.

We’ll meet at 4pm on day 1 and get to know each other. You’ll meet your guide and trip leader for a debrief on the coming adventures. We’ll go for a guided walking tour of the pyramids on day 2, visit the Sphinx, step into an ancient tomb and stop at a panoramic viewing point. Take plenty of pictures! We’ll head to the Egyptian Museum in the afternoon and see many of the great relics of ancient Egypt. You’ll see mummies and learn about day to day life in the time of the pharaohs.

You can choose from a range of activities on day 3. These include a trip to Memphis (not the Elvis place!), a traditional souk, the pyramid of Djoser or enjoy a drink in the sun. In the evening we’ll gather at the home of a local family for an Egyptian dinner.

Days 1, 2 And 3 - Cairo

Day 4: Alexandria

The ancient port city of Alexandria boasts the famous Alexandria Library – it houses over 8 million books. The city also has an underground labyrinth of tombs and the Mamluk fort that guarded the city against the Ottomans. We’ll spend a full day in Alexandria and then return to Cairo for the night.

Day 4: Alexandria

Day 5: Aswan

This morning we’ll head to the airport for a short flight to Aswan on the bank of the Nile. Our first trip will by boat to the Temple of Isis on Philae Island. It boasts some of the finest carvings in Egypt. In the evening we’ll discover Nubian cuisine in a small Nubian village.

Day 5: Aswan

Days 6, 7 And 8: Nile Cruise

We’ll be cruising down the Nile on board an impressive ship with upscale amenities. This will be our floating home from three nights. Sailing down the Nile is a great way to discover Egypt. You’ll see daily life on the banks of the Nile as you lounge on the deck or at the bar with ever-changing scenery drifting by.

Some of the activities we have planned include:

  • Riding a traditional felucca boat and exploration of the sand dunes on the eastern side of the Nile.
  • A trip to the ancient Kom Ombo Temple from 181 BC. A charming ruin on the edge of the river that casts light on Egypt’s Greco-Roman era.
  • A trip to the best-preserved temple in Egypt dating back to 237-57BC. The only way to get to Edfu temple is by horse-drawn carriage.

The Nile cruise concludes with what may be the highlight of the trip: the Valley of the Kings and Luxor. We’ll head underground to see the tombs and hieroglyphics. The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is a monument to Egypt’s most famous and longest-running queen. We’ll also see the vast statues of the Colossi of Memenon, built to honour Tutankhamen’s great great great grandfather.

Days 6, 7 And 8: Nile Cruise

Days 9 And 10: Luxor/Cairo

On our last full day we’ll visit Karnak, a temple complex that was built around 4000 years ago. Building continued on the site for 2000 years and some of the buildings date back to 2,055 BC. This is a great place to end our cultural and historical exploration of Egypt. It’s a short flight back to Cairo. We’ll stay near the airport and unwind in the hotel, no doubt with a lot of exciting experiences to look back on!

You’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight on day 10.
