At a glance

From the moment we first hear the stories, ancient Egypt captures the imagination like nowhere else on Earth. A civilisation over 4,500 years old, filled with mystery, grandeur and extraordinary achievements. Standing at the base of the Great Pyramids, wandering through tombs adorned with hieroglyphics, or gazing up at towering temple columns, history does not just feel real, it surrounds you. Over ten unforgettable days, the pages of history books come vividly to life in what can only be described as an epic journey.

This itinerary is thoughtfully designed for travellers who want to experience Egypt in comfort, confidence and depth. While the atmosphere remains relaxed and social, this trip includes more structure than some of our other adventures. Expect earlier starts to avoid the heat and crowds, carefully planned days, and enhanced inclusions to ensure a smooth and secure experience throughout. Every detail has been considered so you can focus on discovery, wonder and enjoyment.

Please note that Ramadan in 2026 runs from 17 February to 19 March. It is a unique time to visit Egypt and, in tourist areas, you will notice minimal impact. Some sites may close slightly earlier, but our itinerary is planned accordingly. As always, the choice is yours, and we are here to guide you every step of the way.

Over ten carefully curated days, you will experience Egypt’s most iconic sites, guided by experts and supported by seamless planning throughout.

This itinerary has been thoughtfully designed to balance discovery with comfort. Days are more structured than some of our other adventures, with earlier starts to avoid heat and crowds, enhanced inclusions, and a strong focus on safety and ease. The atmosphere remains social and relaxed, while every detail is handled with care, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the history, culture, and wonder of Egypt with confidence and peace of mind.

Included Activities: The Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx, GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum).

Optional Activities: Entry inside King Cheop’s Pyramid, Camel ride.

Day 3: Aswan

On day three, you will travel together to the airport for a short one hour flight south to Aswan or Luxor, depending on the Nile cruise schedule. From here, the pace of the journey softens as you begin exploring life along the banks of the Nile River, the lifeblood of Egyptian civilization for thousands of years. Over the days that follow, this legendary river becomes your guide, revealing temples, landscapes, and stories that shaped ancient Egypt.

Shortly after arriving in Aswan, you will take to the water for a boat journey to Philae Island, home to the stunning Temple of Isis. Dedicated to the goddess of health, marriage, and wisdom, this beautifully preserved temple is celebrated for its elegant design and finely detailed carvings. Set against the calm waters of the Nile, it is widely considered one of the true highlights of Upper Egypt and a memorable introduction to the region.

NOTE: Days 3-7 are reverse if the Cruise schedule goes from Luxor down to Aswan, all of the same inclusions/options apply.

Included Activities: Traditional Felucca boat ride, Temple of Isis, Philae Island

Optional Activities from Aswan: Abu Simbel, Nubian Museum

Days 4, 5 & 6: Nile Cruise

There is no better way to experience this region than by cruising the Nile River aboard a comfortable ship offering the ease and amenities of an upscale hotel. On day four, you will board your floating home for three nights and settle into a slower, more immersive rhythm of travel. From your cabin, the rooftop sundeck, pool, or bar, you can watch daily life unfold along the riverbanks as the scenery gently shifts around you. It is a relaxed and effortless way to travel, with regular opportunities to step ashore and explore remarkable sites along the way.

The cruise builds toward what many consider the ultimate highlight of the journey, Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. Here, you will venture underground into royal tombs filled with vivid hieroglyphics, before visiting the striking Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. These days offer a powerful and unforgettable connection to ancient Egypt.

Included Activities during the Cruise portion of the trip: Kom Ombo Temple, Valley of the Kings (entrance & 3 tombs), Queen Hatshepsut Temple, Colossi of Memnon, Karnak Temple, Traditional felucca boat at sunset.

Optional Activities during the Cruise portion of the trip: Abu Simbel, Hot Air Ballooning, Luxor Temple, Additional tombs in the Valley of the Kings (Seti I, Ramses V, Ramses VI, Tutankhamun).

Days 7 & 8: Luxor/Cairo

On the morning of day seven, you will begin with a visit to the awe inspiring Karnak Temple, one of the most celebrated temple complexes in the world. Built over nearly 2,000 years, sections of Karnak date back more than 4,000 years, and walking among its towering columns offers a powerful sense of Egypt’s scale, ambition, and enduring legacy.

After your visit, you will fly back to Cairo on a short one hour flight and return to the hotel where your journey began for the remainder of the trip.

Day eight introduces the flexibility many travelers value. You may choose to explore the ancient city of Memphis and the Pyramid of Djoser at Saqqara, or simply enjoy a relaxed day by the pool or at the spa. In the evening, you will come together for a special dinner hosted in the home of a local family.

Included Activities: Dinner with a family in Cairo

Optional Activities: Half-day trip to Saqqara/Memphis, Alexandria Day trip, Egyptian Museum, Coptic Cairo.

Day 9: Cairo

Cairo is rich with history and energy, and this day will be dedicated to experiencing its most iconic sights together. You will begin at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, home to the royal mummies of 18 kings and 2 queens. As the first museum in the Arab world to present every period of Egyptian history, it offers powerful insight into how ancient civilizations shaped the modern nation.

From here, you will continue to the Citadel of Saladin, built in 1176 to defend the city from Crusader invasion. Perched high above Cairo, it combines sweeping views with remarkable architecture. Inside, you will visit the stunning Mosque of Muhammad Ali, where your guide Hend will provide a thoughtful and engaging introduction to Islam.

Your day concludes at the vibrant Khan al-Khalili Bazaar. You will have time to explore its colors and aromas, wander the spice and gold markets, and pause for tea at the legendary El Fishawi Café, one of the oldest cafés in the world.
