At a glance

? Don't forget that all of our itineraries are totally customized and so this is just an idea of what we can build for you.

The Maldives is the ideal spot to rekindle your romance, read a good book or paddle in crystal-clear waters – and you can enjoy the fine food on offer at your resort’s exquisite restaurants. Many of the luxury resorts we work with in the Maldives also have incredible spas, which offer a range of treatments including massages and facials using traditional Maldivian herbal remedies.

The Maldives also boasts some of the world’s most gorgeous turquoise seascapes, fantastic for those who like the idea of watersports, such as jet skiing and kitesurfing, as well as scuba diving and snorkeling. The country’s shallow waters are home to an abundance of reef life that is sure to wow even the most experienced divers.

With huge inter-island diversity, whatever you’re looking for, you’re guaranteed to find it in the Maldives. Witness the exquisite Sea of Stars on summer evenings, when bioluminescence in the reefs turns the turquoise sea into a starry night sky. Take part in a jet ski safari and catch a glimpse of some of the Maldives’ fascinating wildlife. You can even enjoy deep-sea dining in Malé, the country’s sparkling capital. But of course, most people will travel to the Maldives to do absolutely nothing – and we don’t blame them.

Resorts in the Maldives cater to travellers working with a range of budget sizes, and at Out Of Office, we are proud of our relationships with many of the country’s most luxurious and exclusive resorts. All the luxury properties we work with in the Maldives are handpicked by us to ensure they are welcoming to every traveller.

Travel Information

The Maldives – with perhaps some of the most beautiful resorts on earth – is made up of hundreds of individual islands that each have their own unique style and ambience. Stunning white sandy beaches sit next to crystal blue waters and you’ll be able to unwind and relax as you watch beautiful sunsets from the shore.

The abundance of underwater reefs and wildlife augment the natural beauty of the islands with a diverse range of resorts – most accessed by speedboat or seaplane.

If you’ve always dreamt of that overwater pool villa getaway, then the Maldives is sure to impress.

Watch our video guide to the Maldives for further information on these beautiful islands.

Despite having problematic laws concerning LGBTQ+ rights, the Maldives is one of Out Of Office’s most popular destinations. Due to the geography of the Maldives, each island is essentially run by the resort that occupies it. We work with an incredible selection of resorts, many of which have LGBTQ+ management, that are welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community.

The Maldives By Month

January is a great time to visit the Maldives, as temperatures remain comfortable and the skies are clear. The Maldives’ tropical climate makes the crystal-clear waters extra inviting – perfect for swimming or relaxing on the sandy beaches.

February is one of the best times to visit The Maldives for a genuinely unforgettable getaway. With clear blue skies and crystal-clear turquoise waters, you will be treated to breathtaking views and powder-soft sand beaches.

In March, the Maldives is a dream destination for visitors looking for an escape from reality. With blue skies and beautiful aquamarine seas, visitors can enjoy powdery white beaches and unbelievably stunning coral reefs – making it the perfect time to visit.

April is an ideal time to visit the Maldives and experience its paradisiacal allure. The skies display a stunning, brilliant blue while the waters are bathed in glorious aquamarine. Visitors can lounge on any of its pristine beaches, or go snorkeling to observe the gorgeous coral reefs in full technicolor glory.

If you’re dreaming of a vacation to The Maldives in May, keep in mind that it is the wet season and colder than usual. Additionally, there is a possibility of tropical storms during this time, so plan ahead and be prepared for any potential risks.

June is not the ideal time to visit the Maldives, as it is the wet season in the country. The temperatures will be lower and rainfall will be frequent, so visitors should come prepared for unpredictable weather. Additionally, tropical storms are common during this period.

Hoping to vacation in the Maldives during July? Be aware of the weather – this is considered the wet season. On average, there will be higher levels of rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures than normal. Plus, there is an increased risk of experiencing tropical storms during this month.

August may not be the optimal month to visit the Maldives as temperatures tend to be cooler, and rainfall is likely due to it being the height of the island’s rainy season. There is also an increased chance of tropical storms during this time. Therefore, it is important to factor in these risks when planning a trip to the Maldives in August.

September is an exciting time to visit the Maldives, but it can also be unpredictable. Average temperatures tend to cool off and there is a strong chance of increased rainfall associated with an increased risk of tropical storms. However, careful preparation and planning can still make the trip very enjoyable.

Planning a vacation to the Maldives in October? Although this month signals the end of the rainy season and comes with a greater risk of tropical storms, there’s still plenty to do and see with proper preparation. Temperatures cool off, rainfall increases and days can still be spent exploring the stunning beauty these islands have to offer.

November is an ideal time to plan a trip to the beautiful islands of the Maldives. From swimming and snorkeling in its crystal clear waters, steps away from vibrant coral reefs, to simply enjoying a walk along one of its stunning, sandy beaches – it’s no wonder why so many people flock to this paradise during this month.

December is the peak season for the Maldives, which makes it the perfect time to visit tourist attractions such as its clear blue lagoons and beautiful beaches. You can soak up some sun while lounging on the shore or try out exciting water sports like fishing, snorkeling, and kayaking.

Gay Travel To The Maldives

Whilst it is illegal to be gay in the Maldives, the properties we have chosen to work with have been handpicked by us to ensure they offer a welcome to everyone no matter who you love.

Indeed we’re proud to say that those properties have agreed to offer honeymoon benefits to same-sex couples too.

There are some sensitivities about travelling to the Maldives as an LGBT couple though. We would recommend that you don’t hold hands on the mainland of Male when you land and that you also go through immigration separately.

Our gay and lesbian Maldives video guides will tell you more.
