Baros Maldives is one of the original luxury resorts in the Maldives, welcoming guests since 1973 on a private island in North Male Atoll just 25 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport.
Designed specifically for couples, the island holds 75 beach and overwater villas and residences, each with a dedicated Villa Host providing around-the-clock personal service. The surrounding house reef is considered among the healthiest in the Maldives, and 30 dive sites including an ancient shipwreck are within 50 minutes by boat.
Three restaurants, Serenity Spa hidden within the island’s tree canopy, and an Eco Dive Centre with Fluo night diving give the resort the depth to justify its status as one of the most consistently awarded properties in the country.
A Piano Deck in the lagoon and private sandbank dining are among the destination dining options available exclusively to guests.

Accommodation
Baros Villa
These villas are surrounded by lush tropical foliage and have direct access to the beach. Enjoy a private sundeck with sunbeds and a large spacious bedroom with a king size bed.
Deluxe Villa
The deluxe villas include a spacious shaded veranda, a beautifully decorated bedroom, and open-sided bathroom and direct access to the beach.
Water Pool Villa
Stay in a water pool villas and have two swim options. Each villa has a private pool, and also has its own steps leading down to the sea.
Premium Pool Villa
Stay in a premium pool villa and have the best of both worlds. The premium pool villas are located right on the beach and also come with a private plunge pool and separate jacuzzi.
Baros Residence
Stay in the main resort and surround yourself in gorgeous tropical foliage. Guests who stay in a residence room have a private swimming pool, garden and terrace area, a separate living room.

Three restaurants cover fine dining, casual beachside eating, and themed evening experiences. Lighthouse Restaurant is the gastronomic flagship, an overwater fine dining venue with a tasting menu and carefully curated wine programme. Lime Restaurant handles all-day international dining with complimentary daily breakfast for direct bookers. Cayenne Beach Restaurant covers casual beachside dinners with themed evenings. Destination dining extends to the Piano Deck in the lagoon, private sandbank dinners, and fully private in-villa experiences arranged through the Villa Host.
Wellness
Serenity Spa is a garden sanctuary concealed within the island’s tree canopy, offering a full menu of indulgent spa and beauty treatments in a setting that feels genuinely removed from the rest of the resort. Signature rituals, body scrubs, facials, and couples’ treatments are all available. Complimentary daily sunrise yoga, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding are included for all guests as part of the direct booking package.
Activities
Thirty dive sites and an ancient shipwreck within 50 minutes give the Eco Dive Centre one of the most varied dive programs in North Male Atoll, including the resort’s signature Fluo night diving experience. The house reef is accessible directly from the shore for snorkelling. Dhoni cruises, sandbank excursions, starlit cinema evenings, sunset yoga, and vow renewal ceremonies cover the above-water programme, with the resort’s romantic focus running through every activity on offer.
