Climb Africa’s highest mountain, the fearsome Kilimanjaro, marvel at some of the most awe-inspiring wild animals throughout the plains of Serengeti National Park, or take a trip to the tropical islands of Zanzibar and Mafia Marine Park where spotted whale sharks swim through the reefs.

Why is Tanzania a popular luxury travel destination?

? Don't forget that all of our itineraries are totally customized and so this is just an idea of what we can build for you.

For adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts, Tanzania promises boundless opportunities to experience some of the planet’s most breathtaking biodiversity up close. Go on unforgettable game drives through the Serengeti, Africa’s premier safari destination, witnessing the famed Great Migration thundering across the plains. Hike through primordial rainforests to glacial craters on the slopes of mighty Kilimanjaro. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcano harbouring an incredible concentration of animals.

Yet Tanzania’s fertile lands have nurtured not just iconic wildlife but also a vibrant cultural mosaic waiting to be experienced. Engage with the proudly preserved traditions of Maasai warriors through energetic dance rituals and intimate village visits. Feast on distinctive local flavours influenced by Arabic, Indian, and Portuguese cuisines with both high-end restaurants and home-cooked meals. Unwind on the postcard-perfect beaches of Zanzibar, the idyllic archipelago whose Stone Town streets overflow with remnants of the medieval spice trade.

While Tanzania may ignite thoughts of rugged safaris, you can find luxury across the country. Exclusive tented camps and lavish eco-lodges immerse you in untrammeled bush surroundings with champagne-level amenities. Retreat to paradisiacal island resorts around Zanzibar and the Spice Islands offering privacy and pampering. Every experience connects you to the untamed majesty of this beautiful country.

Travel Information

There is life wherever you look and there is a lot of it. The beautiful beaches, outstanding wildlife, friendly people and fascinating culture will make your experience in Tanzania unforgettable. If you want to venture on a proper safari, then look no further as some say Tanzania is the land of safaris. Watch as Wildebeest stampede across plains, elephants wander along their migration route, monkeys swing amongst the treetops and lions prowl around the grasslands.

The wildlife always puts on a magnificent performance, one you are unlikely to find elsewhere. It doesn’t just stop there, take a boat ride down the Rufiji River and spot the lurking crocodiles and the many species of birds float on the surface in the Selous Game Reserve. In addition to the safari parks, you can visit the Mt Kilimanjaro, National Park. If you are fit enough you can climb the mountain and attracts many climbers as it doesn’t require ropes or technical climbing experience to reach the summit however still presents a tough challenge. Kilimanjaro is one of the highest volcanoes in the worldIf you are looking for a spot of R and R after your week exploring the wildlife then head to Fundu Lagoon which is a luxurious resort located on the island of Pemba which is just off the coast of Tanzania. The resort has the conservation of nature at the forefront of everything it does. They recycle where possible and all produce used comes from local farmers.

In Tanzania, LGBTQ+ rights are severely restricted, and the legal and social environment is hostile towards LGBTQ+ individuals. Homosexual acts are illegal, with laws strictly enforced, and they can result in significant prison sentences. There is no legal protection against discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and same-sex unions are not recognised.

Public attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people are generally negative, influenced by conservative cultural and religious beliefs. Activism and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights face substantial challenges, including government crackdowns on LGBTQ+ organisations and events. It’s therefore important that if you want to visit Tanzania, you are aware of the laws and challenges that you face here. While we can’t change the laws, we can help you navigate these challenges during your holiday.

The main reason for visiting Tanzania is to see the awesome wildlife which roams the safari parks, the mains ones being the Serengeti National Park, Selous Game Reserve and the Ngorongoro Crater National Park.

There is more to Tanzania than just the game reserves. During your visit experience the traditional Tanzanian culture and head into Zanzibar. The city is divided into two sections; the old Stone Town (Mji Mkongwe) and the Other Side (Ng’ambo).

After all that exploration, you deserve a rest. Head to one of our favourite resorts in Mauritius such as the LUX Belle Mare or head to Fundu Lagoon on the island of Pemba and sink into ultimate luxury.

The main airports in Tanzania are Dar-es-Salaam, Kilimanjaro (near Arusha) and Zanzibar Island. They can be reached directly or by one stop from Europe and mainland Africa.
