One of the main draws of the Riviera Maya for luxury travelers are its beautiful beaches and resorts situated directly on the shoreline. You can spend days lounging on lounge chairs and sipping cocktails, unwinding with beachfront massages, and swimming in the warm, crystalline waters of the Caribbean Sea. Many all-inclusive resorts are adults-only, with amenities specially catering to couples, from private beach palapas to candlelit dinners on the sand.

For lovers of adventure, Riviera Maya also delivers everything from hidden Mayan ruins to encounters with exotic wildlife. Many luxury resorts can arrange guided tours of nearby ancient sites like the seaside Tulum Ruins or the iconic pyramid of Chichen Itza. Adventure further inland to swim in limestone cenotes, natural swimming holes tucked away in the jungle, or head out to sea to experience close encounters with dolphins, stingrays, and sea turtles.

The Riviera Maya also pampers guests with a wealth of world-class spa and wellness experiences. Resorts feature spa facilities overlooking the turquoise Caribbean, complete with hydrotherapy circuits, botanical treatments, and expert massage therapists. You can even opt for a shaman-led temazcal ritual in a traditional Mesoamerican stone hut, or book private yoga sessions on the beach.
