You’ll have a butler to attend to your needs and bring cocktails to your room. The spa is excellent, as is the infinity pool. The intimacy of this resort makes it especially popular for couples’ trips and honeymoons. All of the villas are surprisingly big and come with four-poster beds, private decks and plunge pools. Best For All-inclusive: Secrets Akumal
Secrets Akumal is a sprawling, luxury resort with some great all-inclusive offers. The resort has nine restaurants and three bars. The gourmet, a la carte food on offer is excellent. Sometimes all-inclusive can call to mind dreaded buffets, but you can expect a wide array of food and drink to choose from in your all-inclusive deal.
With 434 rooms and three huge swimming pools, Secrets has all the amenities you could imagine. All rooms have private balconies and sea views. You can upgrade to a suite with a wraparound balcony. Secrets is right in the heart of Riviera Maya and it’s hard to beat for all-inclusive.
Best For Weddings: Excellence Playa Mujeres
Riviera Maya is one of the few places you can have a full legal wedding abroad as a gay couple – without minimum residency limits, etc. One of our favourite hotels for gay weddings in Riviera Maya is Excellence Playa Mujeres. You can get complimentary symbolic beach wedding if you book the Ocean View Junior Suite (with preferred club access).
Excellence Playa Mujeres is very popular with Out Of Office travellers, especially for romantic trips. You can opt for a symbolic or a full legal wedding ceremony.
Best For Style: Azulic in Tulum
If you’re looking for something a little difference, not to mention impeccably stylish, then Azulic is hard to beat. It’a an eco-friendly treehouse hotel located on Tulum’s coastline.
