Indonesia

Indonesia for tourists traditionally means Bali because of its welcoming nature, especially for the gay community. Bali is an Indonesian island known for its stunning natural beauty.

With forested volcanic mountains, beautiful rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs, you’ll also find it’s home to historic religious places such as the cliffside Uluwatu Temple.

One of the places Julia Roberts visits in Eat, Pray, Love, it’s a country that combines both history and the ultimate in beach resort relaxation. The island is also known for its yoga and meditation retreats.

Getting to Indonesia

Flights to Indonesia are relatively cheap but can be long depending on where you're travelling from. Fly into Depensar which is Bali's main international airport. If you are travelling to the mainland then Jakarta is the airport you need to head to.

General Information

A nation of culture, adventure and pureness. Indonesia is such a great holiday destination as it has pretty much everything you could possibly need. From beautiful beaches in Bali to the mysterious marine ecosystem found in Komodo National Park.

The Gili Islands are a great add-on if you are looking to extend your trip. Each island offers a different experience, one is more party orientated, one is perfect for honeymooners and the third is better for culture and authenticity.

Bali is a traveller’s paradise, with everything compacted into one island. Ubud is great if you like exploring jungles and going on temple treks. Ubud is fantastic for white water rafting, so worth visiting if you are an adventurous type. Seminyak, in the south, is paradise. Beautiful sandy beaches, wonderful hotels and a vibrant nightlife.

What Everyone Does

Most people will visit Bali in Indonesia. Purely because it has everything and is extremely good value. You can stay in the top 5 star resorts, and it won’t break your bank. With the long list of things to do and see, you won’t be bored during your stay!

What Some People Do

Combine Bali with a trip to the Gili islands. It is easy to reach by boat, and will give you the feeling of a tropical island escape. Maroon yourself on one of the islands for a few days and immerse yourself in the tropical sunshine.

What No One Else Does

It may be well well known than other islands in Indonesia, but Lombok is the perfect beach escape. With impeccable white sandy beaches, tropical seas and lots of mountains and landscapes for you to explore.
