From small village prides to large global pride events in London, Sydney and New York, gay pride can be a great excuse to get together with friends, celebrate our LGBTQ+ history or explore a brand new destination and its culture.
The world’s largest gay pride event is in Sao Paulo, Brazil whilst perhaps the most colourful can be found in Sydney which coincides with Carnival season, hence the name Sydney Mardi Gras.
In Asia, Taipei Pride though not the biggest is an important one because it remains the largest in Asia. It takes place in late October and so provides a good opportunity to visit outside of the traditional pride season.
Over in Amsterdam, Pride is unique as its parade is held on the canals as a hundred boats take over the waterways of the city. Tel Aviv is perhaps the best gay pride on a beach and attracts large crowds.
