At Out Of Office, French Polynesia is one of our most popular destinations, and it isn’t hard to see why – you’ll find a vast collection of beautiful beaches, unspoiled jungles, and world-class resorts here. A French territory with progressive laws and social attitudes, the country is a great choice for honeymooning couples, groups of friends, and even families. French Polynesia comprises hundreds of islands, and this itinerary seeks to introduce its charms through three of its most popular; Mo’orea, Bora Bora, and Tahiti.

This tailor-made itinerary begins in breathtaking Tahiti, where you can spend your first few days relaxing and soaking up the sunshine after your long flight. In Mo’orea, you’ll sample the slower pace of French Polynesian life, complete with authentic cultural experiences and a plethora of gorgeous landscapes to explore. Lastly, you’ll head to Bora Bora, where the country’s most luxurious resorts are located. Bora Bora is an island that has been tailor-made to let you indulge in the finer things in life, with world-class spa treatments, exquisite fine dining, and once-in-a-lifetime activities all waiting to be enjoyed.

Whilst this itinerary provides an expert outline for your French Polynesian tour, it’s also fully customisable, allowing you to tailor every step to suit your precise travel desires. We’ve included a choice of hotels in this itinerary – all are high-end accommodations where you can realise your most extravagant travel dreams, all whilst exploring a world of unrivaled natural beauty.

Day 1 - 3: Tahiti

Tahiti has been captivating visitors for centuries with its unique blend of untouched natural wonders and exquisite luxury experiences. This island paradise is a sensory marvel just waiting to be explored.

You’ll enjoy a three-night stay at the Hilton Hotel Tahiti, a gorgeous hotel that’s conveniently located just five minutes from Faaa International Airport as well as the city center. It makes a great spot for relaxing after your long flight, and a fantastic base from which to explore the island. Indulge in the refreshing outdoor pool, rent a private cabana, and savour diverse cuisine in the hotel’s three restaurants.

Unwind in wellness centers stocked with indigenous ingredients, or embark on an adrenaline-spiking hike through Tahiti’s luscious interior – whatever your dream French Polynesian adventure entails, you can make it a reality on Tahiti’s stunning shores. Whilst in Tahiti, be sure to take a tour of the island and visit the Museum of Tahiti and The Islands, the country’s premier gallery for traditional and contemporary art.

Day 1 - 3: Tahiti

Day 3 - 6: Mo'orea

Mo’orea is an epicentre of heritage culture within French Polynesia, and a highlight for many visitors is the opportunity to witness and partake in a traditional dance performance. It’s also great for thrilling ATV tours and watersports. Whether you’re dreaming of unwinding lagoonside to the sound of gently lapping waves or hiking through the emerald forests of Moorea’s mountain ranges, there really is something for everyone.

This trip can be tailored to suit your needs exactly – and each step of it is entirely up to you. There’s two resorts we’d recommend for stays in Mo’orea – the first is the Hilton Mo’orea Lagoon Resort and Spa. This property boasts a beautiful white sand beach and vibrant marine life, perfect for snorkelling – as well as the only overwater bar in French Polynesia. You’ll stay in a gorgeous garden bungalow, offering a plunge pool to cool off from the tropical heat – or upgrade to stay in an overwater bungalow.

The second hotel we’d recommend is the Sofitel Mo’orea Kia Ora Beach Resort. Nestled by a vibrant turquoise lagoon, this resort lets you admire the ocean vistas and views of Tahiti’s silhouette. Experience French-inspired luxury and Tahitian warmth in the hotel’s two acclaimed restaurants, offering intimate settings, panoramic views, and live entertainment. Embrace chic luxury with South Pacific charm.

Day 3 - 6: Mo'orea

Day 6 - 10: Bora Bora

Just a one-hour flight from the tranquil shores of Mo’orea, Bora Bora is perhaps French Polynesia’s most iconic island – perfect for ending your holiday in style. Home to a towering (and thankfully extinct) volcano, Bora Bora’s soils have been enriched from centuries of volcanic activity to create an ecological profile that is incredibly friendly to flora and fauna. This fact means Bora Bora is one of the most abundant and naturally flourishing destinations on earth, boasting an array of world-class beaches, jungles, and coral reefs. It also offers guests the pinnacle of luxury, making it a great place to finish your trip. We recommend enjoying a delicious canoe breakfast, served to you by a friendly Polynesian local dressed in traditional islander garments.

The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort is a luxurious 5-star resort that sits nestled beneath the dramatic Mount Otemanu. This resort boasts the largest overwater villas in French Polynesia, with the smallest measuring 1,550ft – each with glass panel floors so you can witness the marine life without even getting your feet wet. The thing that really sets this resort apart however is the level of service. No request will be too big or too small for the butlers here, who are available 24 hours a day.

Another resort we’d recommend is the Conrad Bora Bora Nui. This fully renovated retreat has a more design-focused interior than the more traditional resorts on the island and sits tucked away in the private cove of Motu To’opua. It features the longest white sand beach in Bora Bora, offering unrestricted sunset views – and the spa here is absolutely breathtaking.

Mo’orea is Tahiti’s nearest island neighbor, just a short ferry ride away. With pine-covered mountains and curved white sand beaches, Mo’orea retains a natural beauty that feels truly special. Luxury resorts blend seamlessly into the landscape, with overwater bungalows perched above coral gardens.

Dine on the catch of the day at a beachside grill, before watching the sun sink into the sea. Explore Mo’orea’s verdant interior on guided hikes past waterfall pools and through lush plantations of vanilla, pineapple, and coffee. Snorkel with sea turtles in the protected bays. With fewer crowds than Tahiti, Mo’orea offers a more peaceful Polynesian paradise.
