At a glance

? Don't forget that all of our itineraries are totally customized and so this is just an idea of what we can build for you.

Few regions let you sample three entirely different versions of luxury in a single trip, Stockholm’s quiet restraint, Copenhagen’s playful grandeur, and Oslo’s old-world formality, each only a short flight from the last.

Stockholm’s restraint is built on natural materials and a genuinely private, homely feel rather than a grand lobby. Copenhagen’s grandeur is evident in a luxury hotel on the grounds of its oldest amusement park, still drawing crowds after more than 180 years. Oslo’s formality runs older still, a nineteenth-century grand address with a long history of hosting statesmen and Nobel laureates.

Around each city, the excursions we arrange draw on the same private access built into our other Nordic itineraries, a half-day trip to Sigtuna, Sweden‘s oldest town, an outing to Elsinore, the fortress town that gave Shakespeare the setting for Hamlet, or simply Oslo itself, an easy, walkable capital with a fjord on one side and forest on the other.

For those who want to press further, the same Arctic expertise behind our Northern Norway trips can extend the journey north for the Northern Lights, whether that means a night at an ice hotel or a private aurora chase through fjord country.

Scandinavia is consistently ranked among the most open and welcoming regions in the world for LGBTQ+ travellers, and our LGBTQ+ travel specialists handle every stay, transfer, and reservation across all three capitals, so the only real work on this trip is deciding which city you would have stayed in longer.

In detail

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Days 1-3: Stockholm

A design-led boutique stay anchors your time in Stockholm, chosen for its quiet, residential feel rather than a conventional hotel lobby, within easy walking distance of Gamla Stan, the medieval old town of narrow lanes and ochre-colored buildings that has barely changed shape since the thirteenth century.

Beyond the city itself, a private half-day excursion covers Sigtuna, Sweden’s oldest town, its wooden church ruins and lakeside setting a quiet contrast to the capital.

Days 1-3: Stockholm

Days 4-6: Copenhagen

In Copenhagen, the stay sits inside one of the city’s most storied settings, a design hotel built into the grounds of a nineteenth-century amusement park that remains one of the oldest still operating anywhere, its wooden roller coaster more than a century old.

A private day trip north leads to Elsinore, where Kronborg Castle supplies the real-world backdrop behind Hamlet, alongside a stretch of Danish coastline most visitors to Copenhagen never see.

Days 4-6: Copenhagen

Days 7-9: Oslo

Oslo closes the trip at a historic grand hotel dating to the nineteenth century, long favored by visiting dignitaries and Nobel Peace Prize laureates during their stay in the city.

From here, the city itself does most of the work, an easy, walkable capital where the harbor, the palace, and the surrounding hills are all within reach on foot.

For those with a sense of adventure, private excursions can be arranged to the scenic islands nearby.

Days 7-9: Oslo

Optional Add On: The Northern Lights

For those who want to extend the trip to further extremes, an Arctic extension can be built onto any version of this itinerary, using the same excursions and private guiding as our dedicated Northern Norway trips.

That might mean a night inside an ice hotel rebuilt fresh each winter, a snowmobile or husky sledding excursion, or simply a dedicated aurora chase by private transport away from city lights, tailored to however far north you want to travel.

Optional Add On: The Northern Lights
