This 10-day journey links two of South America’s great food and wine destinations, crossing from Chile into Argentina through the Andes.
Begin on the Pacific coast in Valparaíso, where steep hills, historic funiculars and colorful street art sit above one of Chile’s major ports.
On the way from Santiago, stop for lunch at a winery before spending the following day exploring the city’s food culture with a local chef, including a market visit and hands-on cooking class.
Return to Santiago for a closer look at the capital’s markets, wine bars and restaurant scene before travelling east across the Andes to Mendoza.
The journey itself is part of the experience, with Aconcagua rising above the route as you cross into Argentina.
Mendoza is the heart of Argentine wine country. Spend two days visiting a mixture of established and newer wineries, tasting the region’s Malbecs and seeing how the industry has evolved across generations.
Finish in Buenos Aires, where food becomes part of the way you explore the city.
Visit local markets and restaurants, take part in a cooking experience and discover the neighborhoods and traditions that have shaped the Argentine capital.

Day 1: Valparaiso
Arrive in Santiago and transfer to Valparaíso on Chile’s Pacific coast.
On the way, stop for lunch at a winery, giving you an immediate introduction to Chilean wine before continuing to the coast.
Valparaíso is known for its steep hills, colorful houses and long association with artists and writers, including Pablo Neruda.
Day 2: Valparaiso
Explore Valparaíso through its food.
Visit a local market with a chef, where seafood from the Pacific is a major part of the experience. From there, continue to a cooking class and prepare classic Chilean dishes.
It is a good way to understand the city through the ingredients that define this part of the country.
Day 3: Santiago
Return to Santiago and spend the day exploring the capital’s food scene.
Your guide will take you through some of the city’s main food markets, before you have time to explore Santiago’s wine bars and restaurants.
In the evening, dine at one of the city’s leading restaurants.
Day 4: Mendoza
Leave Santiago and cross the Andes into Argentina.
The overland journey is one of the most memorable parts of the itinerary, with dramatic mountain scenery and views towards Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas.
Arrive in Mendoza later in the day and check into your hotel.
Day 5: Mendoza
Spend the day exploring Mendoza’s wineries.
The region combines historic family-run estates with a newer generation of producers that have helped transform the reputation of Argentine wine internationally.
Taste local wines and learn more about Mendoza’s best-known grape, Malbec, before dining at 1884 in the evening.
Day 6: Mendoza
Enjoy a slower day in Mendoza.
You can walk through General San Martín Park or visit Cerro de la Gloria, which overlooks the city and commemorates General José de San Martín and the Army of the Andes.
The rest of the day is free for another meal and more time enjoying Mendoza at your own pace.
Day 7: Buenos Aires
Fly to Buenos Aires and settle into your hotel.
In the evening, join a guided introduction to the city and begin exploring its historic neighborhoods and architecture.
Day 8: Buenos Aires
Spend the day exploring Buenos Aires through its food.
Join a small food tour visiting local markets and discover some of the city’s bares notables, historic cafés recognized for their cultural importance and connection to Buenos Aires life.
In the evening, you can dine at Cenas Pasionarias, a restaurant tucked inside an antique shop.
Day 9: Buenos Aires
The day is at leisure, giving you time to explore the city independently.
In the evening, choose between a local cooking class focused on Argentine recipes or a multi-course tasting menu at one of Buenos Aires’ top restaurants.
Day 10: Departure
Today you’ll return to the airport for your return flight.
