Few countries reward luxury travel quite like Argentina. Stretching from subtropical rainforest in the north to the sub-Antarctic tip of Patagonia, it combines a remarkable range of landscapes with world-class wine, exceptional dining, and a capital city that ranks among the most sophisticated in the Americas.
Here at Out Of Office, we truly understand the world you live in, and the world you want to explore. Our attention to detail, exceptional service and deep understanding of both luxury travel and LGBTQ+ travel make us a fantastic choice for those looking for a travel experience where exclusivity meets inclusivity.
Buenos Aires is where most journeys begin, and it earns the attention. The city’s Belle Époque architecture tells the story of a nation that was once among the world’s wealthiest, and that grandeur survives in its grand cafés, its opera house, and its hotels.
Recoleta and Palermo are the neighborhoods that define the luxury experience: romantic, restaurant-dense, and walkable, with some of South America’s best open-fire cooking just steps from the city’s finest properties. Tango, born here from the mingling of European immigrant cultures, is best experienced at a traditional milonga rather than a tourist show.
Mendoza sits at the foot of the Andes and produces Malbec that has earned Argentina a place on every serious wine list. The best way to see it is slowly, cycling between family-owned bodegas, staying at a vineyard lodge, and eating long lunches under the vines with the snow-capped peaks visible on the horizon.
Patagonia offers something entirely different: a vast, largely untouched wilderness where boutique lodges serve as base camps for trekking the granite spires of Fitz Roy, watching the Perito Moreno Glacier calve into the lake, and spotting whales and penguins on the Peninsula Valdés coastline.
Argentina has been one of the most progressive countries in Latin America on LGBTQ+ rights for over a decade, with full marriage equality since 2010, among the first countries in the region to legalize it. Buenos Aires carries that history into its everyday character, and Palermo in particular holds one of the region’s most established gay scenes, with rainbow flags marking bars, restaurants, and cafes throughout the neighbourhood. Beyond Palermo’s nightlife, the scene extends to gay-friendly milongas, where same-sex couples take up the tango alongside everyone else.
Argentina pairs naturally with neighboring Uruguay and Brazil, and most itineraries can be extended without backtracking.

Contact usArgentina is one of South America’s largest and most geographically varied countries, stretching almost 3,500 miles from the subtropical forests of the northeast to the wind-scoured tip of Patagonia in the south.
The Andes form its western spine, separating Argentina from Chile along one of the world’s most dramatic natural borders, while the vast Pampas grasslands to the east have shaped the country’s culture and economy for centuries.
The country’s history is written in its architecture and its people. Waves of Spanish, Italian, and other European immigration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries transformed Buenos Aires into one of the hemisphere’s great cities, funding the Belle Époque boulevards and grand civic buildings that still define the capital today. That cosmopolitan heritage lives on in the food, the music, and the distinct identity Argentines carry with considerable pride.
Beyond Buenos Aires, the country divides into distinct regions, each with its own character. Mendoza in the west is Argentina’s wine heartland, producing Malbec at altitude beneath the Andes. Patagonia in the south is one of the world’s last great wilderness areas, home to glaciers, granite peaks, and a coastline rich with marine wildlife.
The northwest, centered on Salta and Jujuy, offers high-altitude landscapes of salt flats and colored mountain valleys shaped by indigenous Andean cultures.
In the northeast, Iguazu Falls sits on the border with Brazil, with 275 individual cascades making it one of the most spectacular natural sights on earth.
Buenos Aires holds one of South America’s most established LGBTQ+ scenes, centered on the neighborhoods of Palermo and Barrio Norte, where rainbow flags mark countless bars, restaurants, and cafes. The city’s gay nightlife ranges from intimate cocktail bars serving Fernet con Coca and Malbec to dance clubs that stay open until dawn. Beyond bars and clubs, the scene extends to gay-friendly tango milongas, where same-sex couples take up the passionate dance that defines Argentine culture.
Buenos Aires Pride, known locally as Marcha del Orgullo, transforms the city each November, drawing hundreds of thousands of participants in one of Latin America’s largest LGBTQ+ celebrations. The parade moves through the heart of the city, and its Argentine character comes through clearly, with tango performances staged directly on the parade floats.
What sets Buenos Aires apart is how thoroughly its LGBTQ+ scene is woven into the wider city, rather than concentrated in a single district. Gay-friendly venues appear throughout Palermo and San Telmo alongside the city’s broader nightlife and dining scene, so a visit does not need to stay confined to one neighbourhood to feel welcoming.
Argentina has also led the region on LGBTQ+ legislation, including full marriage equality since 2010, and surveys have consistently placed Argentina among the most accepting countries in Latin America on attitudes toward homosexuality. That legal and social foundation shows up in the everyday experience of the city: venues across Buenos Aires tend to feel genuinely welcoming rather than simply tolerant.
Argentina rewards proper sequencing more than almost any destination we book. Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and Patagonia sit thousands of miles apart and feel like three different countries, and the way we string them together, along with how much time we allow between them, is where the real planning happens.
Most of our work on an Argentina trip is in the order and the pacing. Buenos Aires first, to adjust before the long flight south. Mendoza in the middle, where slower days among the vineyards balance the flights either side. Patagonia last, so a trip builds toward its most dramatic landscapes rather than working backward from them.
Our specialists have spent years on the ground across all three regions. They have stayed at the vineyard lodges outside Mendoza, tracked the Fitz Roy massif on foot, watched Perito Moreno calve from the water, and eaten their way through Palermo’s parrillas and tasting menus.
That experience shows up in the details a generic itinerary misses. Which Mendoza bodegas take private lunches and which do not. The Patagonia lodge worth booking a year ahead for the right room. The flight combination that avoids a wasted day in transit between Buenos Aires and El Calafate. Argentina also connects naturally to Chile, Uruguay, and Brazil, and many of our clients extend a trip across two or three countries without adding unnecessary backtracking.
Every trip we book is fully tailor-made. You will have one dedicated specialist from first enquiry to the day you fly home, and they will know your trip inside out.
The Iguazu Falls, wider and taller than Niagara, spread across nearly two miles of Argentine and Brazilian rainforest, and the walkways on the Argentine side put you close enough to feel the spray.
Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world still advancing rather than retreating, calves enormous chunks of ice into Lake Argentino in full view of the viewing platforms built directly opposite it.
A steak dinner in Buenos Aires, at one of the parrillas where dry-aged beef is cooked slowly over an open wood fire, paired with a glass of Malbec from Mendoza, a short flight away.
Argentina’s luxury properties tend to sit in dramatic isolation rather than dense hotel districts. Mendoza’s finest lodges sit among working vineyards at the foot of the Andes, with rooms looking directly onto the vines and the mountains beyond.
Patagonia’s lodges function as much as base camps as hotels, built to send guests out trekking or on horseback by day and back to a wood-fired dinner by night. Buenos Aires balances this with genuine city luxury: Belle Époque hotels, tasting menus from some of South America’s best kitchens, and boutique properties in Recoleta and Palermo built around the city’s grand architectural tradition.
Argentina’s size means its climate varies enormously by region and, unlike most destinations, its seasons run opposite to the northern hemisphere.
Buenos Aires is warmest from December to March and mild for the rest of the year, making it a comfortable year-round city break.
Mendoza follows a similar pattern, with the grape harvest running March through April, a particularly good window to combine wine country with warm, dry weather.
Patagonia is most accessible from November to March, its summer, when trekking routes are open and wildlife along the coast is most active; the region largely shuts down for winter between June and August.
Buenos Aires is well connected from the United States, with several airlines operating direct flights to Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE). American Airlines flies nonstop from Miami, Delta operates year-round from Atlanta, and United Airlines also serves the route.
Miami is the most convenient gateway, with a flight time of around 11 hours. From New York JFK the journey is closer to 15 hours, and connections are available from most major US cities via Miami or Atlanta. LATAM and Aerolíneas Argentinas offer additional options on the route.
There are currently no nonstop flights from the UK to Buenos Aires. The most popular routing from London Heathrow is with British Airways via São Paulo or Madrid, with total journey times of around 16 to 17 hours.
Iberia via Madrid is a strong alternative, with competitive business class fares and good onward connections within Argentina. KLM via Amsterdam and Lufthansa via Frankfurt are also well-travelled options. Most itineraries involve a single stop of one to two hours, making the connection relatively smooth.
