Colombia truly has it all: fascinating history, colourful culture and a beautiful collection of natural environments. It’s also one of the best countries to sample both modern and traditional cultural experiences, from fusion dining to authentic hotels with luxury touches.

On the Flavours of Colombia Group Trip, you’ll experience authentic Colombian hospitality from the moment you land in the country. Alongside a group of like-minded LGBTQ+ travellers, you’ll visit some of Colombia’s most exciting cities, tour epic historical locations and bask in exquisite natural beauty. Visit Bogota, Colombia’s capital, surrounded by exquisite views, awe-inspiring art and culture at every turn. Then there’s beautiful Cartagena, where an ancient city wall protects a flourishing UNESCO World Heritage site that boasts an equally impressive beach. This trip is a true Colombian adventure. Last, but certainly not least, the trip will arrive in marvellous Medellin, the City of Eternal Spring, whose recent regeneration into a sustainable and safe city is truly inspirational.

More Information

Colombia has made considerable strides in advancing LGBTQ+ rights, positioning itself as one of the more progressive countries in Latin America in this regard.

Same-sex marriage was legalized in 2016, following a series of legal protections for LGBTQ+ individuals, including rights to adopt children, anti-discrimination laws, and recognition of gender identity on legal documents without the need for surgery or legal proceedings. While LGBTQ+ individuals in Colombia still can face societal discrimination, these legal achievements reflect a growing acceptance and visibility of LGBTQ+ communities within the country.

In detail

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Days 1-3 Bogota

After an evening of relaxing and recharging at BOG Hotel, you’ll spend the first two days of the trip exploring one of South America’s cultural capitals. Art walks and meals at some of the city’s most exciting restaurants will acquaint you with the unique character of Bogota, and a trip up to the top of El Cerro De Monserrate will give you unrestricted views across the sprawling city. The following day will be spent exploring The Temple of Coffee, an institution housed in one of the country’s most successful and influential coffee plantations. Bogota is the perfect introduction to Colombia.

Days 1-3 Bogota

Days 4-6 Cartagena

What better introduction to sun-soaked Cartagena than with a local-led tour of the town’s top restaurants? Wine-paired tasting menus will be enjoyed before you head to the beachside luxury resort of Bastion Hotel, where you’ll be well situated to explore all of Cartagena’s hidden spots and cultural treasures. The trip will be brought to a suitably magical close by a day of gentle island hopping aboard a private boat. The captain and his crew will take you to the archipelago’s must-see spots, giving you the chance to swim in the crystal clear waters and relax on secluded white-sand beaches.

Days 4-6 Cartagena

Days 7-10 Medellin

The Click Clack Hotel perfectly encapsulates the varied history of awe-inspiring Medellin and will be your home during your time in Medellin. Once renowned as a hotspot of crime and corruption, the city has now been transformed into a blossoming hub of culture and art. The nearby village of Guatape is known for its colourful churches and traditional homes, surrounded by a myriad of lakes and valleys. You’ll be able to survey this unique landscape from the 200-meter-high monolith that towers above the village. Whilst in Medellin you’ll also have the chance to take part in traditional Colombian cooking classes led by knowledgeable and creative LGBTQ+ chefs, and sample the offerings of local markets.
