The Oberoi Beach Resort sits on the shores of Turtle Bay, a protected marine park on the north-west coast of Mauritius, 20 kilometers from Port Louis.

The resort covers 20 acres of sub-tropical gardens designed by American landscaper Bill Bensley in collaboration with Thai architect Lek Bunnag, with volcanic boulders, exotic planting, and thatched pavilions and villas drawing on the island’s African and Asian heritage.

The 71 pavilions and villas are distributed across the gardens in clusters and as freestanding private residences, each with a four-poster bed, sunken marble bathroom, and private terrace. The Touching Senses programme, included in the stay, covers daily cultural and wellness activities including stargazing, yoga, tai chi, wine and rum tastings in the historic Gunpowder Room, painting lessons, and guided temple visits.

"Mauritius always feels like next-level luxury, a cut above the rest. It's quieter than some of the other island destinations so has a heightened sense of secluded relaxation. "
