Sugar Beach sits at the heart of 12 acres of tropical gardens on the west coast of Mauritius, extending along a stretch of white sand beach above the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.
The resort is designed around colonial plantation-style architecture, with the Manor House at its centre alongside a series of Creole-inspired villa houses set within the gardens. The west coast position means the resort faces west across the Indian Ocean, with sunset views directly from the beach and from the oceanfront rooms and suites year-round.
Guests at Sugar Beach also have full access to the restaurants, bars, and facilities of La Pirogue, the sister resort a short walk along the beach, which doubles the dining and activity options available during the stay.
Tamarina Golf Club and Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club are both accessible from the resort, with complimentary green fees at Ile aux Cerfs included in some room packages. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is approximately 31 miles from the resort, around one hour by road.

Accommodation
Deluxe Sea View Rooms
Located on the first and second floors within the gardens, Deluxe Sea View Rooms have a private balcony with ocean views and a choice of one king-size or two twin beds, accommodating a maximum of three guests.
The same full room amenity set runs throughout, including a 40-inch flat-screen TV, free WiFi, air conditioning, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, a safe, bathrobes, and slippers.
Premium Beachfront Rooms
Ground floor rooms with direct access to the beach from a private terrace, available in king, twin, or queen configurations. The terrace opens directly onto the sand, making this the most immediate connection to the beach available in the room categories. Suited to families or couples, with cots available on request.
Junior Suites
Ground floor suites with a king-size bedroom and a separate lounge with a sofa bed, suited to families who want additional living space alongside the sleeping area. Two bathrooms are included, alongside a spacious private terrace with ocean or garden views.
The same full room amenity set applies throughout, with the suite layout providing more separation between sleeping and living areas than the standard room categories.
Senior Suites
The most complete room category at Sugar Beach, located in the Manor House with a king-size bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe, and a bathroom with a standalone bathtub and separate shower. A large private terrace with direct beach access extends from the suite, with ocean views from both the bedroom and the terrace.

Food & Drink
Buddha-Bar Beach
Serves Mediterranean-influenced dishes, cocktails, and light meals with the Buddha-Bar brand’s signature atmosphere and live music across selected evenings.
Le Patio
Serves breakfast daily and an international buffet dinner each evening with a Creole influence, alongside themed dinner evenings on a weekly schedule.
Maré Maré Beach Restaurant
A beachfront restaurant serving grilled dishes, seafood, and light meals directly on the sand, open for lunch and dinner.
Bars and La Pirogue Access
Three bars operate across the resort covering the pool, the beach, and the main terrace. Full access to La Pirogue’s restaurants and bars throughout the stay.
Spa & Wellness
GLOW Spa offers a hammam alongside a full treatment menu of massages, facials, and body treatments. A Beauty Bubble on the beach provides nail services and sundowner rituals in a dedicated pod setting.
Two pools sit within the resort, a main pool with a kids’ section and a quiet pool, both backing onto the beach with the ocean visible from the water.
Five floodlit tennis courts are available throughout the day and evening. Non-motorized water sports including snorkelling and windsurfing are available from the beach. A kids club runs daily programs for younger guests, with a dedicated sports and recreation programme for teenagers.
