Signor Escobar is long dead and Colombia has emerged as one of the hottest tourist destinations in Latin America. Quite an impressive turnaround! It’s a fascinating and beautiful country. Bogota is a colourful, bustling city packed with great architecture and one of the world’s biggest gay scenes.
This luxury trip has been planned by destination experts to maximise your experiences of Colombia. As well as exploring the big city, you’ll head to “Zona Cafetera” and taste Colombia’s finest coffee. You’ll also head to the Caribbean side of the country and explore the charming colonial city of Cartagena. Throughout the trip, you’ll be staying in the finest hotels and eating the finest cuisine.

Group Trip Breakdown
Day 1: Bogota
Our representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. We’ll be staying at the fabulous W Hotel, one of the best luxury hotels in Bogota. Chill in the W Lounge and try a signature cocktail. The DJ will be playing till 5am so make a night of it of you have the stamina.
Day 2: Bogota
Our city tour begins at Paloquemao’s Market. Here you’ll find a mix of Bogota old a new. We’ll then head to the colonial quarter of La Candelaria and explore the Plaza de Bolivar in the heart of the city. There are many sights to see here, including the Cathedral, the Congress Palace, the Cardinal’s Palace and the churches of El Sagrario and San Agustin.
We’ll then head to the world-famous gold museum, perhaps Bogota’s most iconic attraction. It gives you a glimpse into the dreams of Eldorado many adventurers had during the great age of exploration. They came to the new world looking for gold and they found it. Much was shipped back to Spain.

Day 3: Bogota to Zipaquira
Today we’ll take a trip to the Salt Cathedral in Zipaquira. The cathedral was carved into an active salt mine under the Halite Mountains. The town of Zipaquira was founded in 1600. You’ll then join a Empanadas, pola, tienda and tejo! tour. This includes a beer at a local tienda. It’ll then be time for a tejo course. Tejo is a national sport that includes throwing a metallic pellet that ignites a charge of gunpowder – you may have seen Anthony Bourdain do it on his show! You’ll then recharge with beer and snacks before we return to the hotel.

Day 4: Coffee Triangle
Colombia is home to some of the world’s finest coffee. We’ll be heading to Colombia’s main coffee-growing area, “Zona Cafetera”. We’ll have lunch in Salento, a fine representative of the “bahareque” architecture typical of the area. Our hotel is right in the heart of the coffee scene and it’s surrounded by stunning landscapes. You’ll taste the freshest coffee you’ve ever experienced.

Day 5: Pereira
Hacienda San Alberto is a premium coffee producer in Buenavista. We’ll take a tour and learn about the coffee-making process, stroll around the coffee plantations and processing plant. It’ll then be time for a coffee tasting session. You’ll learn to refine your palette and identify the subtlest aromas.

Day 6: Pereira to Cartagena
Fly to Cartagena in the morning. A representative will be waiting for you at the airport. Cartagena is packed with charming colonial architecture. It was the first Spanish colony on the Latin American mainland. Explore the colourful buildings and enjoy a cocktail in the evening.

Day 7: Cartagena
Head to “Convento de la Popa” in the morning. Here you’ll be greeted with the finest views of Cartagena. It was built by Augustinian Monks in 1607. The stone facade and altar of Italian marble make for a quite splendid construction. In the afternoon, we’ll hook up with one of the best chefs in the city and join a cooking class. Using fresh Caribbean products, you’ll learn how to make some of the finest local recipes.

Day 8: Islas Del Rosario
We’ll be heading the beach on one of the Rosario Islands, It’s just an hour from Cartagena. You can unwind on the white sands and take a dip in the clear Caribbean waters. We’ll return to the hotel at 4pm to freshen up for our farewell dinner.
