Amalfi Coast
It might not have much of a gay scene, but the Amalfi Coast is one of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. Charming towns like Amalfi, Positano and Atrani line the coast along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula. Explore the winding streets of these towns, wine and dine at the restaurants and bars, and unwind on the beaches. You can even take a private yacht charter and sail along the coast. No travel influencer’s Instagram feed is complete without lots of pictures of them on the Amalfi Coast.
The Amalfi Coast is also a great base from which to explore Southern Italy. You can take day trips to Sorrento, Napoles, Pompeii, and Herculaneum. You can explore the ancient ruins of the Roman Empire and then enjoy a glass of limoncello in Positano: you may reach the height of European sophistication in the process. Oh, and can we take a moment to acknowledge the fact that the Aperol spritz era is over? Drink something more stylish, please.

Sitges
A perennial favorite for LGBTQ+ travelers, Sitges is Spain’s gayest town. Just a 40-minute train ride from Barcelona, it’s a small town packed with more gay bars than most major world cities. In peak season, gay travelers will outnumber straight visitors. Sometimes you’ll see a straight couple in Sitges sitting outside Parrots surrounded by gays: for once, they find themselves in the minority. You could describe Sitges as a “straight-friendly” destination.
The gay beach in Sitges is one of the gayest beaches on the planet. It’s opposite the Calipolis Hotel and just a short walk from the center of town. Sitges is very compact so you can easily migrate from your hotel to the beach and then to the bars. Although Sitges attracts fairly affluent visitors, it’s not really established itself as a luxury hotel destination. Not yet anyway. If you’d prefer to stay in a luxury hotel, you’re best bet is staying in Barcelona and taking a day trip to Sitges.
The Caribbean – Aruba, Turks and Caicos and Anguilla
The Caribbean is emerging as one of the most popular gay travel destinations. Although some Caribbean countries aren’t the most gay-friendly places (Jamaica, for example), others are very gay-friendly. There are 13 independent countries in the Caribbean and a longer list of overseas dependencies governed by Britain, France, the Netherlands and the US.
Aruba, a Dutch overseas territory, benefits from the socially liberal laws that the Netherlands is renowned for. Enjoy the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean as you unwind on the beach and explore the candy-colored buildings of Oranjestad.
For a slightly more exclusive experience in the Caribbean, explore Turks and Caicos, a playground for A-list celebrities. Turks and Caicos is less developed than the more touristy Caribbean islands, so it feels like an unspoiled paradise. Grace Bay Beach is often hailed as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
If you’d really like to up your game in the Caribbean, you could stay at the Cap Juluca, a stunning Belmond property in the Caribbean. Amongst stiff competition, it could well be the best luxury hotel in the region.
The Caribbean is home to some of the most stunning islands in the world, and Aruba and Curaçao are two jewels in its crown. Both islands belong to the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao) just off the coast of Venezuela....We Suggest...

Provincetown
Provincetown, often called P-town, is located at the tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Cod Bay, and Provincetown Harbor, it has a stunning natural setting with expansive beaches, rolling dunes, and salt marshes.
Provincetown became a haven for the LGBTQ+ community starting in the early 20th century. Its rise as a gay destination began in the 1920s and 1930s when it attracted artists, writers, and bohemians, many of whom were openly gay. By the 1950s and 1960s, gay-friendly guesthouses and nightlife began to flourish. The town’s reputation solidified in the 1970s as it became America’s preferred staycation spot for LGBTQ+ individuals, with its arts scene, drag shows, and Pride events.
The peak season for LGBTQ+ visitors to Provincetown is during the summer months, particularly June through August, when the weather is warm, and the town is buzzing with events and nightlife.
Lisbon
The Portuguese capital has seen a cultural renaissance in recent years, with its cobblestone streets and historic neighborhoods now buzzing with art galleries, trendy rooftop bars, and Michelin-starred restaurants. Lisbon’s mild climate, affordable cost of living compared to other European capitals, and welcoming atmosphere have attracted creatives, tech entrepreneurs, and expats from around the world, fueling its transformation into a cosmopolitan city.
The Best Luxury Hotels in Portugal
What sets Lisbon apart is its effortless blend of old and new. Historic landmarks like the Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery stand alongside sleek coworking spaces and contemporary architectural marvels like MAAT (Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology). Its LGBTQ+ inclusivity, nightlife in areas like Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real, and burgeoning tech scene have made it especially appealing to younger travelers and professionals. Now is the time to visit Lisbon before it further gentrifies and loses its slightly ramshackle charm.
