Reethi Faru Resort is a five-star, all-inclusive eco resort on the island of Filaidhoo in Raa Atoll, with 145 villas, six restaurants, and a house reef just off the beach.
Reethi Faru means “beautiful reef” in Dhivehi, which sets expectations nicely. The house reef starts 80 meters off the sand, full of turtles, rays, and reef sharks, with a PADI five-star dive centre on hand. The resort fills Filaidhoo, a small palm-covered island in Raa Atoll, with 145 villas across the gardens, beach, and lagoon.
What stands out is how lightly it treads. Reethi Faru runs partly on solar, grows its own vegetables and spices, and restores its reef through a coral programme. Dining is generous: six restaurants covering buffets, live grills, wood-fired pizza, and tandoori, plus six bars and a 50-strong wine list.
There’s a spa in a coconut grove and an infinity pool that runs to the sea. It suits couples and families, with up to two children staying free, and you can reach it by seaplane or a cheaper domestic transfer.

Accommodation
Villas
There are 150 villas to choose from. You can opt for a garden villa, a family garden villa, a water villa or a beach villa. The villas are spacious and come with king-size beds, vaulted ceilings, a large outdoor bathroom and sun loungers on your own private deck. You’ll have satellite TV, a rainshower and ceiling fan. These villas are ideal for a fly and flop holiday – you needn’t leave the sunlounger. You can also enjoy an activity-packed holiday.

Dining
Six restaurants and six bars is a lot for an island this size, and the variety shows. The main restaurant, Vakaru, runs buffets with live cooking stations and a different theme each night. Elsewhere you’ll find live grills, wood-fired pizza, tandoori, and a strong vegetarian showing, plus private multi-course dinners in a beach cabana. The bars keep pace, with cocktails, smoothies, and a wine list running past fifty bottles.
Wellness
The spa is set in a coconut grove on the island’s quiet west side, with a menu of personalized, holistic treatments and a resident yoga instructor. If your idea of well-being is more energetic, the sports complex is unusually well-stocked: two tennis courts outdoors, badminton, squash, basketball, and table tennis, plus a full gym. It is easy to swing from a sunrise yoga flow to an afternoon match without leaving the island.
Activities
The water sports centre is one of the best-equipped in the Maldives, with accredited instructors and gear for everything from gentle canoeing and paddleboarding to fly-boarding, parasailing, and fun-tube rides. Divers have a PADI and SSI centre and that reef on the doorstep. Raa Atoll also puts you within reach of Hanifaru Bay in neighboring Baa, where mantas and whale sharks gather seasonally. You can also lend a hand with the resort’s coral-restoration work.
