At a glance
The Tryst is making history as the world’s first luxury gay hotel brand — not just another gay-friendly spot that throws up a rainbow flag during Pride. We’re talking about an entire luxury hospitality empire being built from the ground up, by and for the community. The founder, Tristan Schukraft, set out to create an experience where you “Experience your best self, even on your worst behaviour”.
The property itself is stunning — 53 rooms of pure boutique luxury designed by the same architects behind the Four Seasons Tamarindo. The rooftop pool offers panoramic views over Puerto Vallarta. Location-wise, it’s hard to beat — a one-minute walk to Los Muertos Beach, right in the heart of Zona Romántica, where all the gay magic happens. The opening party for The Tryst saw the gay jet-set (the kind you spot all over Instagram) partying alongside Jennifer Coolidge.
The Tryst now joins The Almar as a luxury gay hotel in Puerto Vallarta, attracting mostly North American travellers. A brilliant place to see and be seen.

Room Types
The Tryst offers ten distinct room categories, organised across four clearly defined tiers, each reflecting the property’s signature minimal, modern Mexican aesthetic.
The Entry Level Collection includes the Tryst Queen and City King rooms, ranging from 200 to 250 square feet, with private balconies and ultra-soft king or queen beds. These rooms offer Puerto Vallarta street views and essential luxury amenities, while upholding the property’s boutique standards.
The Mid-Tier Selection features the Courtyard King, Corner King, and Tryst King options, spanning 225 to 315 square feet, with enhanced features such as sliding glass doors to private terraces, upgraded bathrooms with handheld showers, and courtyard restaurant views. The Tryst King represents the sweet spot of this tier — offering, as the hotel describes it, “everything you want, plus that little extra you have to have.”
The Luxury Tier includes the Superior Rooms and Suite categories, ranging from 385 to 590 square feet, offering premium amenities such as multiple balconies, outdoor showers, separate living areas, and accommodation for up to four guests. The Suite is the pinnacle of the Tryst experience, transforming 590 square feet into a contemporary sanctuary complete with an L-shaped sofa, platform king bed, and multiple private balconies overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
