Peak season in Puerto Vallarta runs from April to June. Over that time, most people visiting Puerto Vallarta (also known as PV) will be LGBT+. You’ll find the gay district in Zona Rosa: it’s packed with gay bars and clubs. Zona Rosa is Latin America’s biggest gaybourhood.
You’ll also find lots of straight people in Puerto Vallarta. It’s a cosmopolitan destination that welcomes everybody. PV has a big arts scene, as well as Mexico’s finest culinary scene outside of Mexico City. It’s a supremely fashionable destinations.
As PV is quite small, you can get everywhere on foot. If you want to take a day trip somewhere else you could head to Sayulita, a charming beach town with a popular beach. It’s a colourful, classically Mexican town but very tourist friendly.
As Puerto Vallarta is such a big tourist destination, there are plenty of excellent hotels to choose from.
