Day 2 - Arrival

As you arrive in Delhi, you’ll be warmly welcomed and whisked away to your hotel for check-in, available from 14:00. Take the rest of the day to unwind and soak in the vibrant energy of the city at your leisure.

Delhi, the heart of India, pulses with a unique rhythm that blends the old and the new. The city’s rich history is palpable, with ancient monuments standing alongside sleek, modern towers. Everywhere you look, there’s a story waiting to be discovered—a place where the echoes of empires past mix with the vibrant life of today.

Day 3 - Delhi

After breakfast, your adventure begins with a journey into the heart of Old Delhi. The lively buzz of Chandni Chowk will awaken your senses as you stroll through its vibrant streets. At Jama Masjid, feel the serenity of this sacred space, surrounded by its awe-inspiring beauty.

As the day unfolds, pause for reflection at India Gate, a tribute to sacrifice and courage, before losing yourself in the quiet grace of Humayun’s Tomb. End your day in the colourful chaos of Connaught Markets, where the energy and warmth of the city come alive.

Day 4 to 5- Agra

Your journey continues as you head to Agra, where the magic of the Taj Mahal awaits. Its beauty is beyond words, and when you see it in person, you’ll feel its quiet power. But Agra offers even more—the legacy of the Mughal empire lingers in every corner, from the majestic fort to the hidden tombs and vibrant markets.

The next morning, you’ll experience the Taj Mahal at sunrise, bathed in a soft, glowing light that makes this iconic wonder even more magical. Later, you’ll visit the delicate tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulam, known as the ‘Baby Taj,’ its intricate design offering a quiet elegance that sets the stage for the grandeur of Agra’s treasures.

Days 6 to 7 - Ranthambhore

Your journey continues with a visit to the hauntingly beautiful Fatehpur Sikri. Once the grand capital of Emperor Akbar, this “Ghost City” tells a story of ambition, prophecy, and abandonment. As you wander through its remarkably preserved palaces and the Jama Masjid, you’ll feel the echoes of the Mughal empire’s grandeur, still alive in the graceful architecture that has stood the test of time.

Arriving in Ranthambhore, you’ll find yourself immersed in the natural beauty of one of India’s most celebrated national parks. Once the royal hunting grounds of the Maharajas, today it’s a sanctuary for wildlife, especially the majestic tigers that roam its landscapes. The next day, you’ll set out on an exhilarating safari, the air thick with anticipation as you scan the wild terrain for a glimpse of these elusive and powerful creatures. The thrill of seeing a tiger in its natural habitat is an unforgettable moment, shared with fellow travellers who feel the same wonder.

Day 8 to 9

Your journey takes you to the enchanting city of Jaipur, known as the ‘Pink City.’ As you arrive, you’ll immediately feel the vibrant energy of this historic capital, where the pink-hued buildings create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Spend your first evening at leisure, soaking in the charm of this lively city that blends tradition with regal elegance.

The next day, immerse yourself in Jaipur’s royal past. Begin with a stop at the stunning Hawa Mahal, or Palace of Winds, where the veiled ladies of the past once watched the bustling streets below. Then, you’ll ascend to the magnificent Amer Fort in a Jeep, exploring its intricate halls, including the dazzling Sheesh Mahal, with its shimmering mirrors and marble.

In the afternoon, the grand City Palace awaits, filled with tales of Rajasthan’s royal heritage. Nearby, the Jantar Mantar Observatory stands as a marvel of science and artistry. Finally, lose yourself in the vibrant walled city markets, where the colors, textures, and energy of Jaipur invite you to explore and connect with the local culture.

Days 10 to 11 - Udaipur

Arriving in Udaipur, you’ll be welcomed into a city where history and legend blend seamlessly with breathtaking beauty. Take the rest of the day to relax and soak in the tranquil atmosphere of this royal city, once home to Maharaja Udai Singh and still echoing with the legacy of his reign.

The following day begins with a peaceful drive around the shimmering waters of Fateh Sagar Lake, where the surrounding hills and gardens reflect Udaipur’s serene charm. Explore the quaint Folk Museum and wander through the enchanting Sahelion Ki Bari Garden, a lush retreat built for a queen and her attendants, where every corner whispers stories of royal elegance.

Next, step into the magnificent City Palace, a grand complex overlooking the waters of Lake Pichola. As you explore its opulent halls and courtyards, you’ll feel transported to another era. End the day with a serene boat cruise on Lake Pichola, where the sight of the majestic Lake Palace rising from the water will leave you with a lasting sense of wonder and enchantmen

Useful Information

What’s the Climate Like in India?
India’s climate varies by region, but on this trip, you can expect warm to hot weather during the day, with cooler evenings, especially in the northern cities and wildlife parks. Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur experience dry and warm conditions, while Ranthambhore and Udaipur can be a bit cooler. Light, breathable clothing is ideal for the day, but pack a jacket or layers for the evenings, especially for early morning safaris.

What’s the Currency?
India uses the Indian Rupee (INR). Credit cards are widely accepted in cities, but it’s always a good idea to carry some cash, particularly in rural areas and markets. You can easily withdraw money from ATMs, but starting with around 5,000 INR in cash for small purchases, tips, and local markets is recommended.

Do I Tip in India?
Tipping is common in India, especially in the hospitality and tourism sectors. In restaurants, a 10% tip is generally appreciated. For your guides and drivers, a common suggestion is to tip around 300-500 INR per day. While tipping is not mandatory, it’s a thoughtful way to show appreciation for excellent service.

What Plugs Are Used?
India uses type C, D, and M plugs, with a standard voltage of 230V and a frequency of 50 Hz. Be sure to bring an adapter if your devices aren’t compatible with these types. It’s a good idea to bring a universal adapter to ensure your devices stay charged throughout the trip.

Is India Safe for LGBTQ+ Travelers?
India is becoming increasingly open and accepting of the LGBTQ+ community, especially in larger cities like Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, where you’ll find welcoming spaces and a vibrant LGBTQ+ scene. However, it’s wise to be mindful of local customs, particularly in rural or more conservative areas. Public displays of affection, regardless of sexual orientation, are generally avoided in Indian culture.

What’s the Time Zone?
India operates on Indian Standard Time (IST), which is UTC +5:30. Be sure to adjust your clocks accordingly, especially when arriving from another time zone.

What Should I Pack for India?
Pack light, breathable clothing for warm days, along with layers for cooler evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, especially for city tours and safaris. Don’t forget essentials like sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent for outdoor activities. If you plan to visit temples or religious sites, remember to bring modest clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. A lightweight scarf can also be useful for covering your head in temples.
