Set on the private island of Bodufushi in the Raa Atoll, JOALI BEING is the Maldives’ first resort built entirely around wellbeing, and the sister property to the art-focused JOALI Maldives nearby. The whole island is designed to a single concept the resort calls the Joy of Weightlessness, with its programme structured around four pillars: Mind, Skin, Microbiome, and Energy.
Accommodation runs to 68 beach and overwater villas and residences, all built on biophilic design principles with private pools, butler service, and a personalized Wellbeing Bar in each. Multi-bedroom residences are set up for multigenerational stays, and the B’Kidult zone brings children into the wellness offering rather than separating them out.
The resort holds a two-MICHELIN-Key rating from the 2025 MICHELIN Guide and a Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star rating across four consecutive years. Dining follows an Earth-to-Table philosophy across four restaurants and a slate of culinary experiences.

Dining
Dining follows an Earth-to-Table philosophy, led by two female chefs. FLOW is the heart of it, with three signature kitchens covering pescatarian, vegan and vegetarian, and meat and poultry. YUTORI handles innovative Japanese over the water, MOJO covers Mediterranean across a three-tier sundeck, and Rakuzen is the private teppanyaki framed by the Gate of Zero. The SAI Tea Lounge, a wine cellar, and destination dining at a treehouse or sandbank round it out.
Wellness
Wellness is the entire point of the island, anchored by AREKA, the central hub for diagnostics, therapeutic treatments, and fitness. KAASHI is the hydrotherapy hall, with a banya, sauna, salt inhalation room, and Watsu pool, while AKTAR is a herbology centre with a resident herbologist. Sound healing runs through SEDA and the outdoor Discovery Sound Path, and each of the 37 treatment rooms is tuned to its own signature sound. Five-to-ten-night Wellbeing Programs rebalance the four pillars.
Location
JOALI BEING is on the private island of Bodufushi in the Raa Atoll, in the northern Maldives, around a 40-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport at Malé. The Raa Atoll is one of the country’s quieter regions, with healthy reefs and clear waters. Marine conservation is built into the resort through the Raa Atoll Sea Turtle Care Centre, with snorkelling, diving, and ocean discovery programs running directly off the island.
