Day 1 and 2: Ho Chi Minh City
FTouch down in Ho Chi Minh City and rise early the next morning to witness the city awaken with the sunrise over Saigon. Begin your day at Tao Dan Park, where locals gather to practise tai chi, aerobics, and badminton—a peaceful glimpse into daily life. Continue on to a serene pagoda, often filled with quiet prayer and incense.
Then, experience the hustle of a traditional market, where colourful stalls brim with fresh produce, seafood, and spices, offering an authentic taste of local culture. As night falls, embrace the city like a local—on the back of a scooter. Ride through buzzing streets as Saigon comes alive after dark, stopping to sample delicious street food and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. This curated day blends tranquillity and thrill, culture and cuisine—an elegant introduction to Vietnam’s spirited south.
Day 3: Mekong Delta
Today, immerse yourself in the beauty and culture of the Mekong Delta. Begin with a peaceful river cruise to your cycle tour’s starting point, where you will ride along quiet backroads and cross narrow canals that weave through the lush landscape. Along the way, stop to explore local workshops producing traditional turmeric spring roll paper and palm leaf thatching. Next, visit a family-run orchid and fruit farm, led by a war veteran who shares heartfelt stories as you explore his tropical garden. Sample freshly picked fruits before continuing your journey by sampan—drifting gently along tranquil, palm-lined canals.
Your final stop is a striking 100-year-old home that blends Vietnamese and European architecture. Here, you will enjoy a regional lunch prepared with authentic Mekong Delta flavours. After an enriching day of discovery and hospitality, return to Saigon in the late afternoon, with memories of a landscape shaped by heritage, community, and nature.
Day 4: Hoi An
Fly to Danang where you’ll be met and driven to Hoi An, which was a major trading port in the 17th and 18th century. Enjoy lunch at one of the best restaurants in town serving a fusion of Asian cuisine which is sure to dazzle your taste buds! You will then be taken on a walking tour of the ancient town center to visit the former merchants’ homes, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, a Chinese communal hall and the colorful market.
The rest of the day is spent at your own leisure. Explore or head back to the hotel to relax.
Day 5: Hoi An
Today is a celebration of Vietnamese creativity and culture. Begin with a hands-on cooking class where you will prepare classic dishes using local techniques, learning about herbal remedies and traditional tools along the way. After your culinary efforts, sit down to enjoy the lunch you have crafted yourself.
In the afternoon, take a leisurely stroll through town before crossing the river for an inspiring painting session with a professional Vietnamese artist. Discover traditional brushwork techniques and explore the stories behind the art.
Your cultural journey continues with a lantern-making workshop, where you will craft the colourful decorations that light up the city’s streets. As you learn the process, you will also connect with members of the Lifestart Foundation—an initiative supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through heartfelt conversations and hands-on experiences, you will gain deeper insight into Vietnamese life and community, making this a day rich in learning, artistry, and human connection.
Day 6 and 7: Hanoi
Fly to Hanoi and enjoy an intimate evening meal with a local family, followed by a private performance of traditional music on a handmade one-string instrument. The next morning begins early with a visit to Long Bien Market, North Vietnam’s largest wholesale fruit and vegetable hub. Bustling and vibrant, it offers a raw, authentic glimpse into daily life. Continue to Hoan Kiem Lake, where locals practise tai chi, martial arts, and morning walks, then pause at a nearby café for a lakeside coffee.
Your exploration continues with a walking tour of Hang Be Market and Ngoc Son Temple, set amid Hanoi’s charming maze of narrow alleys and shopfronts. Later, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, known for its grand architecture and tranquil gardens. Conclude your cultural journey at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and his historic stilt house—an evocative insight into the legacy of Vietnam’s revered leader.
Day 8: Halong Bay
Today you’ll head towards Halong Bay. You will arrive and board your boat, where you will be served lunch and will begin the cruise toward the stunning bay itself.
At the end of the bay, your boat with anchor up for the evening and you will be served a delicious dinner on board.
Day 9 and 10: Hanoi
Wake up to a delicious breakfast served on board the boat. You will be blessed with a gorgeous sunrise spreading over Halong Bay. Your boat will slowly cruise through the magnificent rock formations and back towards the port where you will be met by your driver and transferred back to Hanoi.
The rest of your time in Vietnam is for you to relax or explore further.
