At a glance

Le Negresco has stood on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice since 1913, its pink dome one of the most recognisable landmarks on the French Riviera.

Each of the 102 rooms and 26 suites tells its own story through the great eras of French art, fitted with period furniture and paintings that trace the history of French style from the Grand Siècle of Louis XIV to the present day.

The hotel is now owned by FDMAN, the Mesnage-Augier-Negresco Endowment Fund, and operates as an independent property with no chain affiliation.

The building faces the Bay of Angels directly, with the Mediterranean on one side and the city of Nice on the other. Old Town is a 15-minute walk, and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is five kilometres away.

Accommodation

Deluxe Rooms

The Deluxe Rooms are the entry point at Le Negresco and each has its own identity, decorated with period furniture, refined fabrics and works of art drawn from across French history.

Some face the Mediterranean and the Promenade des Anglais. Others look toward the city or inner courtyards. All have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom.

Superior Rooms

The Superior Rooms step up in size and are individually decorated with the same approach as the Deluxe, each pulling from a different period of French art and design. No two rooms share the same scheme.

Sea View Suites

The Sea View Suites face the Mediterranean directly, with views along the Promenade des Anglais and out to the Bay of Angels.

Each is decorated in a distinct style, mixing contemporary and period pieces drawn from across French history.

Deluxe Sea View Suite

The Deluxe Sea View Suite steps up in size from the standard Sea View Suites, with a larger living area and the same direct outlook over the Mediterranean.

Fine art and antiques run throughout, in keeping with the character of the rest of the hotel.

Signature Suites

The four Signature Suites each take their name and decorative cues from a specific cultural or historical reference. The Junior Suite Venitienne draws on Venetian design with Italian detailing throughout. The Montserrat Caballé Suite is named after the opera singer and has a grand piano as its centrepiece.

The Marie Antoinette Suite is decorated in the style of Louis XVI, and the Marie Leszczynska Suite, named after the wife of Louis XV, draws on the refined taste of the French royal court.

Food & Drink

Le Chantecler
Le Chantecler holds one Michelin star and serves French cuisine in a room of 18th-century panelling, Flemish tapestries and Regency-era chandeliers.

La Rotonde
The more relaxed option, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in a room decorated with a carousel of painted horses that has become something of a signature.

N Les Bar
Serves a full drinks menu, with live music in the evenings. It is the social centre of the hotel and worth knowing about.

Le Negresco Beach Club
Sits directly on the Promenade des Anglais with beach cabanas and a full menu, with the Mediterranean in front of you

Spa & Wellness

The spa offers massages, body treatments and facials, alongside a sensory bath, yoga sessions and a barber shop. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a fitness centre.

The private beach club is available to all guests and gives access to the sea directly from the Promenade des Anglais.

The destination

France

France operates on Central European Time, one hour ahead of the UK and six hours ahead of the East Coast of the US. The TGV high-speed rail network is one of the best in the world and should be the default for inter-city travel: Paris to Lyon in two hours, Paris to Marseille in three, Paris to Bordeaux in just over two.
