Solo Sokos Hotel Turun Seurahuone sits in the centre of Turku, Finland’s oldest city, in a 1920s building that was fully renovated in 2019 and named the best boutique hotel in Finland for 2025 by the International Travel and Hospitality Awards.
The hotel has 140 rooms, each unique in size and layout, a sauna, a 24-hour gym, two restaurants and a bar, all within a short walk of Turku Cathedral, the city’s market square and the central train station.
Turku is Finland’s former capital and the country’s main gateway to the Swedish archipelago, with ferries to Stockholm departing from the harbor a short distance from the hotel.
The city has a strong food and design culture, a medieval castle, and a river lined with restaurants and bars that comes alive in summer. The hotel’s central position puts all of it within reach on foot.

Standard Rooms
The entry-level rooms at Turun Seurahuone vary in size and outlook depending on their position in the building. Each has the full standard specification including the Solo premium bed, minibar, flat-screen TV and Chromecast. The variation in layout from room to room is part of the character of the property.
Superior Rooms
The Superior Rooms add extra services and in some cases a seating area, making them the right choice for longer stays or for those wanting more space. The superior category covers a range of sizes and positions within the building.
Suites
The suites at Turun Seurahuone are the most spacious accommodation in the building, with separate living areas and the full Solo specification throughout. They work well for honeymoons or for those wanting the most the hotel offers.

Food & Drink
Gunnar Eatery and Bar
The hotel’s main restaurant and bar works with domestic meat and fish from the Airisto sea area alongside local fresh produce and vegetables. The kitchen’s approach is built around pure flavors and seasonal ingredients, with a zero-waste philosophy running through the operation.
The space is designed for residents and locals alike, with a programme of events and a social atmosphere that makes it one of the more visited places to eat in central Turku. The bar serves a full drinks list through the evening.
Solo Breakfast
Breakfast is served on the second floor, Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 10am and Saturday to Sunday from 7.30am to 11am. The spread covers local specialties, warm dishes, fresh pastries, cheese, fruit and juice.
Wellness
The hotel sauna is open daily from 7am to 10am and from 6pm to 10pm, giving guests time in the heat at either end of the day.
The 24-hour gym on the first floor is equipped with weight-training machines and is available to all guests at no additional charge.
