From the majestic Acropolis to the elegant avenues, every corner of Athens exudes a sense of grandeur and sophistication. Your stay in Athens will offer a deep dive into the city’s vibrant culture and rich heritage, making it an essential part of your luxury travel in Greece.
Then, set sail to the enchanting island of Santorini, a gem in the Aegean Sea. Known for its breathtaking caldera views, stunning sunsets, and whitewashed buildings, Santorini epitomises the dream of a luxury Greek island holiday. Day 1-2: Athens
Upon arrival into Athens Airport, you’ll be met by your OutOfOffice.com representative who will assist in your private journey to your hotel. After settling in, you’ll have the day to leisurely explore the city.
The next day, you’ll enjoy a tour of the highlights of Athens. Starting your visit to Panathinaikos Stadium, you’ll also explore the National Garden, Hadrian’s Arch, Greek Parliament and the tomb of the unknown soldier, and then visit the famous Acropolis, undoubtedly the crowning of the beauty and glory of Ancient Athens. Its many monuments include The Propylea, the temple Of Athena, Nike and the Erechtheion, with its Porch of Maidens.
Continue with a visit the Acropolis Museum, considered one of the most important archaeological museums in Athens and ranked among the most important museums of the world. The Acropolis includes artefacts from Ancient Greece, statues from the period and caryatids which are sculpted female figures used as architectural support instead of columns.
You’ll see the Parthenon as well as the ruins of Ancient Athens City, revealed during archaeological excavations on the site of the museum.
Day 3: Island Hopping
In the morning we’ll take you to the port to take a full-day cruise of three islands. The ship sets sail for Hydra. Here you have free time for a walk or a swim. Reboard the boat for Poros, the smallest of the three islands, separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strait and offering a most enchanting view of Poros Town.
You’ll have an hour to explore Poros. Lunch will then be served as you journey to your final port of call, the island of Aegina where you have time for a swim. You can take an optional excursion, by bus, to the fine preserved Temple of Afea Athena. Board the boat for your return to Athens where you’ll arrive late in the afternoon.
Day 4-6: Santorini
After breakfast, you’ll check out from your Athens hotel and head to the port to take the ferry to Santorini.
On your first day you’ll enjoy a day at your leisure, exploring the beaches and buildings of Santorini.
The next day, you’ll tour the beautiful island of Santorini. Visit the Akrotiri Archaeological Site and witness the excavations with your guide.
Stop at the Red Beach before enjoying free time at Perivolos Beach where you can have lunch or a swim before heading to Megalochori to explore the village. You’ll then head to Pyrgos village to explore the village and also visit Santo wines where you’ll enjoy tasting three local wines.
Day 6: Volcano & Hot Springs
We will take you to Athinios Port where we embark in the traditional sailing boat heading for the famous volcano. Climbing up to the top of the crater you will learn the history of the area and explore the six craters. Next stop will be at the Hot Springs, where a cool mud bath is welcome after the hot volcano.
At Thirassia Island you’ll have the chance to explore for a while taking in the sights and sounds of the traditional village of Manolios and the Greek way of life.
Your final stop is in the village of Oia where you will disembark at Ammoudi Bay, climb the steps up to Oia or take a donkey ride to the top. You are then free for approximately 3 hours to enjoy the beautiful sunset or have a drink in one of the cafeterias with stunning views of the Caldera cliff.
The coach will then take you back after the sunset and return to your resort after an amazing day out.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, when you’re ready, we’ll take you to the airport for your onward flight.
