Ibiza’s reputation was built on its clubs, but its most exclusive addresses have always been in the hills, well away from the partying.
Ibiza became a prominent LGBTQ+ destination decades before the superclubs arrived, drawing artists, writers, and a bohemian community to the island’s interior through the 1960s and 1970s. That history has been steadily overshadowed by the island’s later reputation as Europe’s party capital, and this itinerary is built to recover it.
Think: restored centuries-old estates with private chefs and pools; secluded coves reached only by private boat; and evenings built around a single exceptional table rather than a door list.
Begin inland, at a private estate restored from a centuries-old finca, its grounds shaped by olive and almond groves that predate the island’s tourism entirely.
Days here are staffed rather than scheduled: a private chef, a housekeeper, a driver on call; all in service of doing very little with great precision.
A shift toward the north coast introduces Ibiza’s most secluded stretches of coastline, reached by chartered boat rather than a public beach club.
Finish in Santa Eulalia, a design-conscious town where the island’s quieter luxury tradition is most visible.

Days 1–3: The interior
Settle into a private finca estate in the island’s rural heart, restored with the grounds’ original stone and timber left largely intact, and staffed with a private chef who builds each evening’s menu around what the island’s own producers bring that day.
Days move at the estate’s own pace, an infinity pool overlooking olive groves at the centre of them, with a driver on call for the rare excursion into an inland village.
Ibiza’s association with LGBTQ+ travellers predates its reputation as a nightlife capital by a full generation, and this stay reflects the same qualities that first drew a bohemian community here through the 60s and 70s: privacy, exceptional taste, and a landscape that rewards slowness.
Days 4–5: The north coast
A private boat charter departs each morning, reaching coves along Ibiza’s north shore that remain inaccessible by road, with lunch served aboard rather than at a beach club.
Benirràs, facing west, is the island’s most celebrated spot to watch the sunset, and a second day shifts briefly inland to the hill town of Sant Joan before returning to the water.
Evenings stay unhurried by design: an intimate dinner at a restaurant known only to the locals.
Days 6–7: Santa Eulalia
A design hotel in Santa Eulalia closes the trip, its architecture and interiors drawn from the same restrained, materials-led aesthetic that defines the island’s quieter luxury tradition, in a town with a genuine, understated LGBTQ+ presence that has never needed to announce itself the way the island’s clubs do.
Spain has held marriage equality since 2005, among the earliest countries in the world, though Ibiza’s own culture has always had more to do with a permissive, live-and-let-live sensibility than with any particular scene.
