W Koh Samui sits on a small peninsula between Maenam and Bo Phut on the north coast of the island, with 74 private pool villas set across a hillside that faces both west toward sunset and east toward sunrise. The position gives the resort two distinct beach settings and panoramic views across the Gulf of Thailand.
The resort was designed by award-winning designer Carl Almeida of P49 Design, and the W brand’s energy runs through everything here, from the nightly fire shows and DJ sets at WOOBAR to the Japanese restaurant Namu overlooking the water.
Every villa has a private pool and a king-sized bed with 350-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets and a goose-down duvet. The days are built around the beach, the pools and AWAY Spa. The evenings take care of themselves.
Koh Samui has an established and growing LGBTQ+ travel scene, concentrated in Chaweng and Bo Phut, both within easy reach of the resort. Complimentary daily shuttles run to central Chaweng for those wanting to explore the island.

Accommodation
Ocean Escape Pool Villa
The Ocean Escape Pool Villa is the entry-level category and covers the one-bedroom villas that sit across the hillside facing the Gulf of Thailand.
Each has a private pool on a large deck, floor-to-ceiling windows and the full W villa specification throughout. The views take in the water and the surrounding island canopy.
Penthouse Pool Villa
The Penthouse Pool Villa is a two-bedroom villa covering 888 square meters, with one king bedroom and one room with two queen beds, making it suited to families or two couples travelling together.
Two en-suite bathrooms, a separate living room and dining area, and a private pool with ocean views across the water. Floor-to-ceiling windows run through the living areas and the pool deck sits directly above the canopy.
Grand Residence Pool Villa
The Grand Residence is a two-story, four-bedroom villa sitting above the resort with panoramic sea views on all sides. The villa has its own private infinity pool on an expansive balcony, a full dining room, separate balconies from both master bedrooms and furnished outdoor spaces from the two guest bedrooms below.
It is the only villa of its kind at the resort and is designed for groups or families who want a private house experience with full hotel service behind it.

Food & Drink
Namu
The Japanese restaurant sits above the water with views across the Gulf of Thailand. The menu covers sushi, sashimi and cooked dishes alongside a full cocktail and sake list.
The Kitchen Table
The all-day restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on a sea-facing terrace, with a menu running from gourmet pizzas to Thai curry. Breakfast is included in certain room rates.
WOOBAR
The resort’s signature bar runs from day into the evening with cocktails, a W Music Curator’s track selection and nightly fire shows, all with views across the Gulf of Thailand.
SIP
The open-air sunset bar serves craft beer, cocktails and a creative food menu. The best place on the property to watch the sun go down.
Spa & Wellness
AWAY Spa offers essential oil massage treatments, herbal baths, body wraps and facials in a setting designed around the natural landscape of the hillside.
The FIT gym is fully equipped for those who want to keep up their routine. Beach yoga runs in the mornings, and kayaking, volleyball and beach cabanas are available directly from the shore throughout the day.
