Those visiting El Yunque National Forest should take the weather into account. The tropical climate of this park produces high temperatures and humidity all year round, with the rainy season starting from April to November. During September and October, there will be very heavy precipitation and thunderstorms. Despite this, the beauty that surrounds El Yunque is not lost – the rains add to its lush greenery as well as providing full streams and waterfalls for visitors to enjoy.
El Yunque National Forest is one of the top tourist destinations in Puerto Rico. However, the crowds can become overwhelming during peak season from December to April. If you want to experience the beauty of El Yunque with fewer people around, try visiting during the shoulder seasons – May to June or September to November. These times offer a quieter visit and a more relaxed atmosphere.
Visiting El Yunque National Forest offers a variety of activities ranging from hiking to camping, and even exploring the many waterfalls and rivers. The dry season from December to April is the best time to take advantage of these outdoor activities since conditions are ideal.
