The Hacienda at Warm Sands is a luxury gay men’s resort in the Warm Sands district of Palm Springs.
Open since the 1970s, it trades on privacy and a near one-to-one staff-to-suite ratio rather than size. The nine suites are among the largest in town, most with a fireplace, a full kitchen, and a private patio, set around lush gardens.
Days centre on the two pools and the jetted spa, both swimsuit-optional, with misters, a sauna, and lounges under the San Jacinto Mountains. There is no restaurant, but breakfast and lunch are laid out poolside daily, with Monday wine and snacks. The mood is calm and grown-up, more reading by the pool than party.
This is an adults-only resort for gay men, suited to couples on a honeymoon or anniversary and solo travellers after a quiet few days. Downtown Palm Springs is a four-minute drive, with the desert, the Aerial Tramway, and Joshua Tree all close.

Deluxe Junior Suite
At 600 ft2 this suite is more like a private apartment. There’s a large walk-in/roll-in shower, an open-plan living area, a private patio and views of the elegantly landscaped east pool.
Grand Deluxe Suite
This the most luxurious suite. It has a large fireplace, a separate bedroom, a large dining and living area, a full kitchen and a private patio. At 900 ft2 it has the proportions of a private residence.

Dining
The Hacienda does not have a restaurant, which suits the pace of the place. Instead, a continental breakfast and a catered lunch are laid out by the pool each day, included in the rate, with wine and snacks on Monday evenings. Every suite has a full kitchen and a bar, so guests who want to cook or entertain can, and the restaurants of downtown Palm Springs are a few minutes away. The team will also stock your suite before arrival.
Wellness
Wellness here is the desert version: sun, water, and quiet. There are two swimming pools and a jetted in-ground spa, all swimsuit-optional, cooled by misters and set among lush planting, a Japanese pond, and a Spanish fountain, with the San Jacinto Mountains behind. A sauna and a steam room round it out. With only nine suites and a one-to-one staff ratio, the resort is built for slowing down, the kind of place where people read by the pool all afternoon.
Location
The Hacienda is in Warm Sands, the small grid of streets just southeast of downtown that is the centre of gay Palm Springs, home to most of the city’s gay men’s resorts. Downtown, with its restaurants, bars, clubs, and shops, is about four minutes away by car. Beyond the city, the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, the hiking trails of the Indian Canyons, and Joshua Tree National Park are all easy desert day trips.
