Discover the latest luxury hotel to become embroiled in the drama and chaos of The White Lotus
The White Lotus Season 3 is being filmed in Thailand at the Four Seasons Koh Samui. As fans of the first two seasons will know, the show is built around unstable but glamorous rich people getting into bother in luxury hotels. Season one was filmed at Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii, and season two was filmed at San Domenico Palace, A Four Seasons Hotel in Taormina, Sicily.
In The White Lotus, the hotel becomes an integral part of the story. Guests form friendships with each other, have ill-advised one-night stands, and get involved in various scandals. In each season, gay storylines are central to the plot. Both hotel managers – grumpy Armond in season one and conflicted Valentina in season two – were gay. Jennifer Coolidge delivered her now immortal line: “These gays. They’re trying to kill me”. The White Lotus became one of the most iconic shows ever made for LGBT+ travellers: we all wanted to get drunk with and also rescue Jennifer Coolidge.

Four Seasons Koh Samui
Perched on a hillside overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, Four Seasons Koh Samui is every bit as luxurious as you’d expect from a White Lotus filming location. With its secluded villas, private infinity pools, and pristine beaches, it’s one of the best luxury hotels in Thailand. It’s easy to see how Four Seasons Koh Samui could become the backdrop for simmering tensions, troubled divas and messy love lives in Season 3.
If you’ve ever wanted to live out your own White Lotus fantasy—sans the murder and scandals—this resort provides the perfect setting. Imagine yourself drinking a sunset cocktail at the beach bar, much like Tanya might have, while pondering life’s big (and hilariously small) questions. Or lounging by the pool, surrounded by opulent greenery, and wondering what secrets your fellow guests might be hiding.
Four Seasons Koh Samui takes full advantage of its tropical surroundings, providing experiences that connect guests to the natural beauty and culture of Thailand. From Muay Thai training in an open-air ring to private yacht excursions around nearby islands, there’s plenty to explore beyond your villa—unless, of course, you prefer to stay cocooned in your own private drama.
Like the Four Seasons properties featured in previous seasons of The White Lotus, Koh Samui embodies the tension between indulgence and introspection. Whether you’re seeking adventure or just a quiet place to unwind, you’ll find yourself wondering, as many of the show’s characters did, “Is this paradise—or is something else lurking beneath the surface?”
Let’s dive deeper into what makes Four Seasons Koh Samui the perfect escape—and maybe even the setting for your own life-changing moment.
Four Seasons Koh Samui highlights
Private Villas with Infinity Pools
Every villa is perched on the hillside or amidst verdant gardens, each one with panoramic views of the turquoise Gulf of Thailand. Your private infinity pool is the perfect place to start or end the day, with the sea stretching endlessly before you.
The beach
The resort’s private beach is world-class, with powdery white sands and crystal-clear waters. Whether you’re lounging under a shaded cabana, indulging in water sports, or enjoying a private beach dinner, you’ll have the classic luxury beach experience.
Award-Winning Spa
The Secret Garden Spa is a must-visit. Surrounded by tropical foliage, it has a range of treatments inspired by traditional Thai healing practices. Imagine a sunset massage in an open-air sala while listening to the soothing sound of the waves.
Unparalleled Service
At the heart of the experience is the Four Seasons’ renowned service. Attentive without being intrusive, the staff anticipates your every need—making you feel as pampered as any White Lotus guest, albeit (hopefully) with fewer existential crises.
