Today you will be taken on a private half day city tour with an English speaking guide. You’ll visit the historic centre, including the Colon Theatre, San Carlos Palace, San Ignacio Church, Narino Presidential Palace, Bolivar Square, the Capitol, City Hall and the Cathedral.

The afternoon is at your leisure to explore the city or relax at the hotel.

You will take a private transfer from the hotel to the airport.

Medellin is the second largest city in the country, and the only one to have a Metro, and a Metrocable. Just 20 years ago, Medellin was ravaged by the drug wars. This was the home city of notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar – should ring a bell if you watched Narcos. Fortunately, the dark days have passed and Medellin now attracts tourists from all over the world. The rebirth of this city has been an extraordinary achievement.

Explore Medellin at your own leisure. You should definitely get a cable car and enjoy a panoramic view of this city and its surrounding mountains.

Flight departing Medellin and arriving in Cartagena. You will be picked up from the airport by private vehicle and dropped off at your hotel.

Cartagena is the capital city of the Department of Bolivar, with a perfect mix of colonial and modern elements; inside the city walls, both sides of the narrow streets are adorned with antique doorways, flower-filled balconies, restaurants and hotels. Sites of Interest: The Walled City,La Puerta del Reloj (The Clock Gate and Tower), Castillo de San Felipe St. Philip’s Castle), La India Catalina (Catalina, the Indian), Islas del Rosario (Rosary Islands), among others.  You will stay 4 nights at the Dorado Plaza with breakfast included.

Providencia, 90km north of San Andres, is a wonderfully remote and traditional Caribbean island with breathtaking scenery, gorgeous golden-sand beaches, friendly locals and superb diving. Best of all, it’s a pain to get to, ensuring that you’ll never have to share this slice of paradise with the package-holiday crowd: the only way to reach Providencia is by a short flight in a 20-seater plane or on a three-hour catamaran ride, both from San Andres.

Without a direct connection to the Colombian mainland, the island hasn’t seen nearly the same levels of cultural invasion as San Andres, leaving its traditions and customs more or less intact. You’ll still hear the local English Creole spoken all over the island, and road signs direct you with the old English names for towns, rather than their Spanish equivalents. All this combined with gorgeous topography standing sentinel over swaths of turquoise-blue sea gives Providencia no small claim to being paradise.
