Explore Croatia from the perfect vantage point as you sail across the Adriatic; venturing into magical saltwater lakes, taking in medieval architecture and sampling the best food Croatia has to offer.

Rather than a single hotel stay with day trips built around it, this itinerary pairs three of Croatia’s most distinctive luxury properties with a private yacht used to move between them, treating the sailing itself as part of the stay rather than a means of transport.

The route begins in Split, moves through the islands of Hvar and Korčula, and finishes in Dubrovnik, with a full day exploring the protected waters of Mljet National Park along the way.

Split’s Diocletian’s Palace recedes into a wall of pale stone as the yacht pulls away from the harbor, replaced by the uninhabited islets of the Pakleni chain. Mljet’s saltwater lake, reached only by boat, offers a stillness the open Adriatic does not. Korčula’s walled Old Town appears on the horizon looking much as it would have centuries ago. By the time Dubrovnik’s cliffs come into view on the final approach, the week has been shaped less by hotel check-ins than by the sea itself.

Nights are spent at Maslina Resort on Hvar, Lešić Dimitri Palace on Korčula, and Villa Dubrovnik to close the trip. Three properties have been chosen specifically because each offers a genuinely different character, from Maslina’s wellness-led calm to Lešić Dimitri’s six individually themed suites within a restored palace.

Croatia has also made real progress for LGBTQ+ travellers in recent years, extending to full joint adoption rights for same-sex couples in 2022, and this itinerary is a natural fit for LGBTQ+ couples or families drawn to the country’s sailing culture.

In detail

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Days 1-2: Split

Arrive into Split and spend the first two days exploring the city on foot before boarding the yacht.

Diocletian’s Palace, the 4th-century Roman ruin at the heart of the city, anchors the Old Town, with its excavated cellars and surrounding streets easily filling a full day.

The second day allows time to meet the crew, settle into the yacht, and depart for the islands by early evening.

Days 1-2: Split

Days 3-4: Hvar

The yacht sails to Hvar, docking near Stari Grad, a short transfer from Maslina Resort, set among olive groves on Maslinica Bay.

Two nights here balance time on the water, snorkelling and swimming from the yacht in quieter coves around the island, with time on land at the resort’s own 600-square-meter spa.

A half-day sail to the nearby Pakleni Islands, a chain of uninhabited islets just off Hvar Town, offers some of the clearest water in the region for anyone who wants a final swim before continuing on.

Days 3-4: Hvar

Day 5: Mljet National Park

The yacht continues to Mljet, one of the most densely forested islands in the Adriatic and home to Mljet National Park, built around two saltwater lakes connected to the sea.

A full day is spent exploring the park by kayak and on foot, including a visit to the small islet of St. Mary in the middle of the larger lake, home to a 12th-century Benedictine monastery reachable only by boat.

Day 5: Mljet National Park

Day 6: Korčula

The yacht arrives at Korčula, and the final two nights move ashore to Lešić Dimitri Palace, a restored 18th-century palace within the Old Town walls offering just six individually themed suites.

The afternoon is free to explore Korčula’s medieval streets, a few steps from the house where Marco Polo is said to have been born, before dinner at the palace’s own Michelin-starred restaurant.

Day 6: Korčula

Day 7: Dubrovnik & Departure

A final sail delivers the yacht to Dubrovnik, where the trip closes with a transfer to Villa Dubrovnik for a last afternoon by the sea before departure, or an extension into the city for anyone continuing on to explore Dubrovnik’s Old Town in full.

Day 7: Dubrovnik & Departure
