Esperanza
Esperanza is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. It’s emerged as the luxury hotel of choice in Cabo. The hotel is four miles away from the town of Cabo San Lucas. It overlooks the Baja Peninsula and the Sea of Cortez.
A firm favorite with Hollywood A-listers, Esperanza is very high-end. Cabo’s Punta Ballena coastline is very dramatic. Waves crash against the rocks of the whale’s tale-shaped coastline. The villas and suites overlook the sea and they’re all supremely stylish. Gwyneth Paltrow, Leonardo DiCaprio and Hugh Jackman have given Esperanza their seal of approval. Its private location gives them respite from the flashbulbs. If you’d like to vacation like Hollywood royalty then Esperanza is a great place to stay.
One&Only Palmilla
One&Only Palmilla is one of the most famous luxury resorts in Mexico. This is the resort that put Cabo on the map. Many would consider it to be the finest hotel in town. There’s also a stunning One&Only hotel in the Maldives. The food and drink options are really next level. Expect a range of contemporary Mexican cuisine paired with excellent wines. A Michelin-star chef is on hand to serve you the finest kobe beef.
This resort is set in 55 acres of land. For really special occasions you can stay at Villa Cortez, a sweeping luxury property favored by Jennifer Aniston. One&Only Palmilla also has one of the only beaches in the region you can swim in – the waters can be choppy elsewhere. Be sure to head for drinks at Agua Bar in the evening. One&Only Palmilla is a true bucket-list hotel. It ranks among the world’s finest.
Nobu Hotel
More name-dropping is required to set the scene. Nobu Hotel’s Cabo outlet was masterminded by Robert de Niro and Nobuyuki Matsuhisa. It’s the first Nobu Hotel to open in Latin America. It’s a 20-minute drive from the town of Cabo itself. The hotel boasts a private stretch of coast that’s often empty. Another bonus is that the golf course next door was designed by Tiger Woods, no less.
Nobu Hotel takes its own spin on Japan’s minimalist style. Expect clean lines and elegantly manicured gardens. Nobu Hotel satisfyingly combines Japanese design influences with a Mexican twist. The rooms are elegant but not showy. Nobu Hotel’s food really stands out. A wide range of Mexican cuisine is available, as well as Japanese infusion. Be sure to try the avocado pizza.
The Cape
A spectacular and effortlessly stylish hotel overlooking Monuments Beach. All of the rooms overlook El Arco and the Bahia Cabo San Lucas horizon. The hotel was designed by Mexico City architect Javier Sanchez. Its understated luxury combines California-meets-Baja cool.
A bottle of tequila will be waiting for you when you arrive. The balconies come with day beds. There are six on-site restaurants serving food to an exceptionally high standard. Head up to The Rooftop to enjoy drinks as the sun sets over The Cape.
Las Ventanas Al Paraiso
Perched on the tip of Baja Peninsula you’ll find Las Ventanas Al Paraiso. This ultra-luxury resort is comprised of 71 suites, each of which come with private pools. Staff only materialize if you want something – otherwise they make their way through special underground tunnels. That’s luxury – even bordering on the excessive.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, J-Lo has hailed this as her favorite hotel. It has a world-class spa with its very own shaman. Maybe the shaman moves through special invisible tunnels no one can see. Anyhow, this hotel has a Department of Romance. You heard that right. They can make proposal videos for you, and maybe help you out with various other things, too.
Expect Evian mist spray by the pool. This is a great choice if you’re really looking to splash out on a romantic occasion. Las Ventanas Al Paraiso is one of the leading hotels in Mexico.
