Soho House is one of the best hotels in Barcelona. The 18th-century building is located in Duc de Medinaceli square. It’s just a 10-minute walk from the bottom of Las Ramblas. The style calls to mind an English country house. On the roof terrace, you’ll be greeted with stunning views of Port Vell and the sea.
The first Soho House opened in London in 1995. There are 23 clubs around the world, some taking the form of hotels too. Soho House was designed as a social club for people in the creative industry. It’s ideal if you’re looking for something a little more stylish than the big chain hotels.

Spain is widely regarded as one of the most LGBTQ+-friendly countries in Europe, with strong legal protections that ensure queer travelers can explore the country with peace of mind and freedom. Same-sex marriage has been legal since 2005, and LGBTQ+ individuals are protected by comprehensive anti-discrimination laws in areas like employment, healthcare, and public services. These legal safeguards, combined with a culture of inclusivity, make Spain a safe and welcoming destination for LGBTQ+ travelers.
Madrid and Barcelona are particularly famous for their vibrant LGBTQ+ scenes. Madrid is home to one of the largest Pride festivals in Europe, attracting thousands of visitors each year to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture and rights. The city’s LGBTQ+ nightlife is diverse, with a wide range of bars, clubs, and venues catering to all tastes. Barcelona is equally renowned, with the LGBTQ+ community thriving in areas like Eixample, known for its welcoming vibe and abundance of queer-friendly establishments.
Even in smaller towns and rural areas, Spain is generally very accepting, making it a great destination for LGBTQ+ travelers looking to explore both bustling cities and more tranquil locations. Whether you’re enjoying the lively nightlife of Madrid and Barcelona or relaxing in Spain’s scenic countryside, you can expect an inclusive atmosphere that celebrates diversity and freedom.
