This luxury journey takes you from the colonial elegance of Colombo to the wildlife-rich landscapes of Gal Oya and Yala, where safaris by land and water reveal the country's most elusive creatures.

Begin in the Cultural Triangle, where the majestic Sigiriya Fortress rises above the emerald landscape. Day by day

?

This is a sample plan, not a fixed departure. Days can be added, removed or reordered, and almost every client changes something. Prices are an entry-level guide; your quote will be exact.

Day 1: Welcome to Sri Lanka

Your Sri Lankan adventure begins with a warm welcome as you arrive in Colombo.

Your private chauffeur guide will be waiting to escort you to a colonial-era hotel on the seafront, where old-world elegance meets modern comfort. Your room looks directly out over the Indian Ocean.

Spend the evening soaking in the old-world charm of Colombo’s seafront promenade, indulging in a sunset cocktail as the city hums with energy.

Day 2: Sacred Anuradhapura

Journey into the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, traveling to Sigiriya with stops at two remarkable sites.

First, explore the ancient city of Anuradhapura, a UNESCO-listed wonder and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Witness sacred Buddhist stupas, towering dagobas, and the revered Sri Maha Bodhi tree, a direct descendant of the tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment.

Later, venture to the secluded Kaludiya Pokuna ruins, where monks have lived in peaceful silence for centuries. Enjoy the tranquility of this hidden gem before arriving at your luxurious retreat in Sigiriya.

Day 3: The Majestic Sigiriya Fortress

Step back in time as you climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century.

As you ascend the 1,200 steps, pause to admire the ancient frescoes and the renowned Mirror Wall, inscribed with poetry dating back to the 6th century.

At the summit, take in breathtaking panoramic views of emerald-green landscapes stretching for miles.

After your descent, enjoy an afternoon of relaxation in your serene eco-retreat, surrounded by tranquil lakes and lush paddy fields.

Day 4: Sacred Caves & Spice Markets

Travel to Kandy via the Dambulla Cave Temples, an awe-inspiring complex of rock-carved Buddhist shrines adorned with intricate murals and gilded statues.

Continue to Kandy, where the lively markets burst with color and spice. Stroll through stalls brimming with exotic fruits, fragrant cinnamon, and aromatic cardamom.

Savor an authentic local experience at Midlands Café, where freshly baked bread and bold Ceylon tea offer a true taste of Sri Lanka.

Day 5: Kandy’s Royal Heritage & The Temple of the Tooth

Kandy, Sri Lanka’s last royal capital, is a city of history and legend.

Wander along the serene Kandy Lake, visit the charming colonial Queen’s Hotel, and explore the vibrant streets where the old meets the new.

The day culminates in a visit to the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, home to Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist artifact.

As you step inside, feel the spiritual energy of this hallowed site, where age-old traditions live on.

Day 6: Into the Wild

Leave the city behind as you journey to Gal Oya, a remote wilderness where Sri Lanka’s indigenous Vedda people have lived for centuries.

Led by the village Chief, embark on a guided walk through the forest, learning about ancient medicinal plants, tribal hunting techniques, and sacred ancestral sites.

This rare and authentic experience offers a deep connection to Sri Lanka’s indigenous heritage.

Day 7: Safari by Land & Water

Gal Oya is Sri Lanka’s hidden wildlife paradise, where untouched landscapes and abundant wildlife thrive.

Begin with a jeep safari in the Nilgala region, home to elephants, sloth bears, and rare birdlife.

Later, embark on a boat safari across Sri Lanka’s largest lake, gliding through still waters as elephants wade between islands and crocodiles sunbathe on the banks.

This is a truly unique way to witness the country’s rich biodiversity.

Day 8: The Wild Heart of Yala National Park

Continue your adventure to Yala National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most celebrated wildlife sanctuaries.

Arriving at your luxury tented camp, enjoy an afternoon safari with an expert naturalist guide.

Yala is home to Sri Lanka’s elusive leopards, along with elephants, sloth bears, and an extraordinary variety of bird species.

As dusk falls, return to camp and dine under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Day 9: Exploring Yala’s Untamed Wilderness

Rise early for a jungle walk, learning the art of animal tracking with expert guides.

Spot wildlife up close, from sambar deer to vibrant kingfishers, and gain a new appreciation for the park’s delicate ecosystem.

In the afternoon, unwind with a kayaking excursion, paddling through tranquil waters while taking in the untamed beauty of Yala.

Day 10: Sunrise Safari & Coastal Escape to Galle

Begin your day with a sunrise safari, where golden light bathes the jungle and wildlife is most active.

Capture incredible photographs before departing for the coast.

Arrive in Galle, Sri Lanka’s enchanting colonial city, where the cobbled streets and historic fortifications transport you back in time.

Day 11: The Stories of Galle & A Home-Cooked Feast

Galle’s UNESCO-listed fort is a living museum of Sri Lanka’s past, shaped by Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences.

On a private walking tour, uncover its rich history through its architecture, spice-scented alleys, and grand mansions.

Later, experience true Sri Lankan hospitality with a home-cooked meal prepared by Mother Washanti, whose legendary curries are as rich in flavor as they are in tradition.

Share stories over a warm meal, feeling like family before bidding farewell to this remarkable town.

Day 12: Farewell Sri Lanka

As your journey comes to an end, enjoy one last scenic drive along the coast, reflecting on the dramatic landscapes, ancient wonders, and unforgettable moments that have made this trip so special.

A private transfer takes you to Colombo International Airport, where you depart with cherished memories of Sri Lanka’s vibrant culture, natural beauty, and warm-hearted people.
